Stephen Addresses the Sanhedrin
Then said the high priest, Are these things so?
Then said the high priest, Are these things so?
Стефан ответил: "Братья и отцы, слушайте! Бог славы явился Аврааму, отцу нашему, когда он ещё жил в Месопотамии, до того, как поселился в Харране,
And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,
и сказал ему: "Оставь свою землю и родных своих и иди в страну, которую Я укажу тебе".
And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.
И Авраам покинул страну халдеев и поселился в Харране. После смерти его отца Бог переселил Авраама в эту землю, где вы теперь живёте.
Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.
Он не дал ему в наследство ни пяди этой земли, но обещал в будущем отдать её во владение ему и потомкам его, хотя в то время у Авраама и не было детей.
And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.
Вот что сказал ему Бог: "Будут твои потомки пришельцами на чужой земле, и поработят их, и будут притеснять и угнетать их четыреста лет.
And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.
И Я буду судить народ, поработивший их", — сказал Бог, — "и покинут они ту землю, а потом станут поклоняться Мне на этом месте".
And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.
И дал Бог ему обряд обрезания в знак соглашения, которое Он заключил с ним. И потому, когда Авраам стал отцом Исаака, то на восьмой день обрезал его, а Исаак, став отцом Иакова, также обрезал его, Иаков же сделал то же самое для своих сыновей, те же впоследствии стали двенадцатью патриархами.
And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
Патриархи же завидовали Иосифу и продали его в рабство в Египет. Но Бог был с ним
And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,
и избавил его от всех бед, дал ему мудрость и милость в глазах фараона, царя египетского. И фараон сделал Иосифа правителем всего Египта и своего собственного дома.
And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
Но наступил голод в Египте и Ханаане и принёс с собой великое страдание. И предки наши не находили для себя пропитания.
Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.
Услышав, что в Египте есть запасы хлеба, Иаков послал туда наших предков. Это было их первое путешествие в Египет.
But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.
Когда же они отправились туда во второй раз, Иосиф открылся братьям своим; и фараону стал известен род Иосифа.
And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph's kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.
И послал Иосиф за отцом своим Иаковом и за всеми родственниками, всего их было семьдесят пять человек.
Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.
И отправился Иаков в Египет, и там прожил и он, и наши предки до самой смерти.
So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,
И перенесли их в Сихем и положили в гробницу, которую Авраам купил в Сихеме у сыновей Еммора, заплатив за это серебром.
And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.
И по мере приближения исполнения обещания, данного Богом Аврааму, число наших соплеменников становилось всё больше и больше.
But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.
Он хитроумно использовал наш народ и был жесток к нашим предкам, заставляя их бросать своих новорождённых на произвол судьбы, чтобы те погибали.
The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.
В это время родился Моисей, который был очень красивым ребёнком. Три месяца он воспитывался в доме своего отца,
In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months:
а когда им пришлось его бросить, то мальчика подобрала дочь фараона и воспитала, как собственного сына.
And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.
Моисей был обучен всей мудрости египтян, и был силён в словах и делах.
And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
Когда ему исполнилось сорок лет, он решил навестить своих братьев, сынов Израиля.
And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.
Увидев, что одного из них обижают, он вступился и отомстил за обиженного, убив египтянина.
And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:
Он думал, что его собратья поймут, что Бог посылает им через него спасение, но они не поняли.
For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.
На следующий день он случайно увидел драку между двумя иудеями, и попытался помирить их, говоря: "Люди, вы — братья, почему же обижаете друг друга?"
And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?
Но тот, кто обижал ближнего, оттолкнул Моисея, сказав: "Кто поставил тебя старшим и судьей над нами?
But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?
Не хочешь ли ты убить меня так же, как убил вчера египтянина?"
Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?
И бежал Моисей из Египта, услышав это, и поселился пришелец в земле Мади-амской, где стал отцом двух сыновей.
Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.
Прошло сорок лет, и ангел явился ему в пламени горящего куста в пустыне неподалёку от горы Синай.
And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.
Моисей удивился, увидев это. А когда подходил, чтобы лучше рассмотреть, услышал голос Господа Бога:
When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,
"Я Бог предков твоих, Бог Авраама, Бог Исаака и Бог Иакова!" Моисей, дрожа от страха, не смел смотреть на куст.
Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.
И Господь Бог сказал ему: "Сними сандалии с ног твоих, ибо место, на котором ты стоишь, — земля святая.
Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.
Я взглянул и увидел притеснение народа Моего в Египте, и услышал стоны его, и сошёл, чтобы спасти его. Теперь же, Моисей, Я посылаю тебя обратно в Египет".
I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.
Это тот самый Моисей, которого иудеи отвергли, сказав: "Кто поставил тебя вождём и судьей?", тот самый Моисей, которого Бог через ангела, явившегося ему в кусте, послал, чтобы стал он вождём и спасителем.
This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.
Это он вёл их, творя чудеса и знамения в земле египетской, у Красного Моря, и в пустыне в продолжение сорока лет.
He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
Это тот самый Моисей, который сказал сынам Израиля: "Пророка, подобного мне, пошлёт вам Бог из народа вашего".
This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
Это он был с народом Израиля, собравшимся в пустыне, это с ним говорил ангел на горе Синай, и это он был с нашими предками, когда принял животворящие заповеди Господние и передал их нам.
This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
Но наши предки отказались подчиниться ему, отвергли его и обратились сердцами к Египту.
To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
Они сказали Аарону: "Сделай нам богов, которые поведут нас, ибо с тем Моисеем, который вывел нас из Египта, не знаем, что случилось".
Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
И сделали они в те дни изображение тельца и принесли жертву идолу, и радовались делу рук своих.
And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
Но Бог отвернулся от них и перестал удерживать их от служения лжебожествам небесным, как написано в книге пророков: "Народ Израиля! Заклания и жертвы не Мне приносил ты в пустыне в течение сорока лет.
Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?
Взяли вы с собой шатёр Молоха и звезду вашего бога Ремфана: идолов, которых сделали вы себе для поклонения. И потому отправлю Я вас за пределы Вавилона".
Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
Во время скитаний в пустыне предки наши несли с собой скинию. Бог научил Моисея, как сделать этот шатёр по образцу, который был показан ему.
Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
Потом наши предки, получив шатёр от своих предков, несли его с собой и под водительством Иисуса овладели землёй народов, которых Бог изгонял с той земли от лица предков наших. Так было до времени Давида,
Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;
который обрёл милость Божью и просил, чтобы ему было позволено построить жилище для Бога Иакова.
Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
Однако Всевышний обитает не в доме, построенном руками человеческими, ибо, как говорит пророк: "Небеса — Мой престол,
Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
а земля — подножие Моё. Какой дом вы построите Мне? — говорит Господь, — или, где место покоя Моего?
Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
О, упрямцы, отказывающиеся принести сердца свои Богу и внимать Ему! Вы всегда противитесь Святому Духу, вы такие же, как и предки ваши.
Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
Был ли хоть один пророк не преследуем вашими предками? Они убили даже тех, кто давно предсказывал пришествие Праведника, Которого в эти дни вы предали и умертвили.
Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
Это вы получили закон, вручённый вам ангелами, и не подчинились ему".
Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
Иудейские предводители пришли в бешенство, слушая это, и скрежетали зубами от гнева.
The Stoning of Stephen
When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.

Но Стефан, исполненный Святого Духа, устремил взгляд к небесам и, увидев славу Божью и Иисуса, стоящего по правую руку от Бога,
But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
сказал: "Вот, я вижу небеса разверстые и Сына Человеческого, стоящего по правую руку от Бога".
And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Они же при этом стали кричать и затыкать уши. Потом, набросившись на него,
Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
они выволокли его за пределы города и стали бросать в него камни. А те, кто лживо обвинял его, оставили свои одежды на сохранение юноше по имени Савл.
And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.
Когда они побивали камнями Стефана, он воззвал к Господу и сказал: "Господи Иисусе! Прими дух мой!"
And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
