{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Free me, O Jehovah, from the evil man; preserve me from the violent man:

Визволь мене, о Господи, від злого чоловіка, бережи мене від насильницького мужа!
Who devise mischiefs in [their] heart; every day are they banded together for war.
Від тих, що злобу в серці замишляють, щодня здіймають колотнечі,
They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
гострять язики свої, мов гадюка; отрута змії на устах їхніх.
Keep me, O Jehovah, from the hands of the wicked [man], preserve me from the violent man, who devise to overthrow my steps.
Сохрани мене, Господи, від руки нечестивця, бережи мене від насильницького мужа. Вони задумали мене з ніг збити.
The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the way-side; they have set traps for me. Selah.
Горді сховали на мене тенета і мотуззя і розіп'яли сітку при дорозі, сильце поставили на мене.
I have said unto Jehovah, Thou art my God: give ear, O Jehovah, to the voice of my supplications.
Я кажу Господеві: «Ти єси — Бог мій! Почуй, Господи, голос мого благання!»
Jehovah, the Lord, is the strength of my salvation: thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
Господи, Боже мій, сило мого спасіння! Ти покриваєш голову мою в день бою.
Grant not, O Jehovah, the desire of the wicked; further not his device: they would exalt themselves. Selah.
Не дай, Господи, щоб грішника бажання збулися, не потурай його лихим задумам.
[As for] the head of those that encompass me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
Хай не підносять голови ті, що мене обсіли, хай злоба власних губ їх вкриє.
Let burning coals fall on them; let them be cast into the fire; into deep waters, that they rise not up again.
Нехай гаряче вугілля на них упаде, у прірви нехай їх кинуть, щоб не встали більше.
Let not the man of [evil] tongue be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the man of violence to [his] ruin.
Злоріка на землі не встоїться, насильника й злого будуть безнастанно гнати й бити.
I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted one, the right of the needy.
