Якже вся військова старшина, що зо своїми людьми порозбігалась була по країні, довідалася, що вавилонський цар поставив намісником краю Годолію, сина Ахікама й передав йому чоловіків із жінками та дітьми та й тих убогих у краю, що їх не переселено у Вавилон,

А коли всі військові зверхники, що були в полі, вони та їхні люди, прочули, що цар вавилонський учинив начальником над краєм Ґедалі́ю, сина Ахікамового, і доручив йому мужчин і жіно́к та дітей, і тих з бідних кра́ю, що не були вигнані до Вавилону,

І Я поверну відселення Юди і відселення Ізраїля і збудую їх, як і раніше.

Когда все военачальники, бывшие в поле, они и люди их, услышали, что царь Вавилонский поставил Годолию, сына Ахикама, начальником над страною и поручил ему мужчин и женщин, и детей, и тех из бедных страны, которые не были переселены в Вавилон;

Now when all the captains of the forces which were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon; -
