Як перейдете через Йордан у землю, що її Господь, Бог твій, хоче тобі дати, поставиш собі великі камені, побілиш їх вапном,
When you cross the Jordan River and enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster.
і напишеш на них усі слова закону, коли перейдеш, щоб простувати в землю, яка тече молоком та медом, як обіцяв тобі Господь, Бог твоїх батьків.
Write this whole body of instruction on them when you cross the river to enter the land the LORD your God is giving you — a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, promised you.
Тож як перейдете Йордан, то ці камені, про які я нині заповідаю вам, поставите на горі Евал (Герізім); і побілиш їх вапном.
When you cross the Jordan, set up these stones at Mount Ebal and coat them with plaster, as I am commanding you today.
Там поставиш ти жертовник Господеві, Богу твоєму, жертовник із каменів, і не вдарятимеш у них долотом;
“Then build an altar there to the LORD your God, using natural, uncut stones. You must not shape the stones with an iron tool.
із цілого каменя спорудиш жертовник Господеві, твоєму Богові, та вознесеш на ньому всепалення Господеві, твоєму Богові.
Build the altar of uncut stones, and use it to offer burnt offerings to the LORD your God.
Тоді принесеш мирні жертви й їстимеш там та й веселитимешся перед Господом, Богом твоїм.
Also sacrifice peace offerings on it, and celebrate by feasting there before the LORD your God.
А на каменях напишеш усі слова цього закону, виковуючи їх виразно.»
You must clearly write all these instructions on the stones coated with plaster.”
Мойсей і священики-левіти промовили до всього Ізраїля так: «Мовчи, Ізраїлю, і слухай: сьогодні ти став народом Господа, Бога твого;
Then Moses and the Levitical priests addressed all Israel as follows: “O Israel, be quiet and listen! Today you have become the people of the LORD your God.
слухай же голос Господа, твого Бога, й виконуй його заповіді й установи, що це нині заповідаю тобі»
So you must obey the LORD your God by keeping all these commands and decrees that I am giving you today.”
Цього дня заповідав Мойсей народові словами:
Curses from Mount Ebal
That same day Moses also gave this charge to the people:
«Як перейдете Йордан, то оці стануть на Герізім-горі, щоб благословити народ: Симеон, Леві, Юда, Іссахар, Йосиф і Веніямин.
“When you cross the Jordan River, the tribes of Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin must stand on Mount Gerizim to proclaim a blessing over the people.
А оці стануть на Евал-горі, щоб проклинати: Рувим, Гад, Ашер, Завулон, Дан і Нафталі.
And the tribes of Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali must stand on Mount Ebal to proclaim a curse.
І заходяться левіти промовляти, кажучи грімким голосом до всіх Ізраїльтян:
“Then the Levites will shout to all the people of Israel:
Проклят чоловік, що робить якусь подобу, чи тесану, чи литу, гидоту перед Господом, діло рук майстра, і ставить її у скритому місці! І ввесь народ у відповідь скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who carves or casts an idol and secretly sets it up. These idols, the work of craftsmen, are detestable to the LORD.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
Проклят, хто зневажає свого батька й свою матір! І ввесь народ скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who dishonors father or mother.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
Проклят, хто пересуває межі (посілости) свого ближнього! І ввесь народ скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who steals property from a neighbor by moving a boundary marker.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
Проклят, хто зводить сліпого з дороги! І ввесь народ скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who leads a blind person astray on the road.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
Проклят, хто кривосудить приходня, сироту й вдову! І ввесь народ скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who denies justice to foreigners, orphans, or widows.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
Проклят, хто згрішить із жінкою свого батька, відкриє полу батькового плаща! І ввесь народ скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who has sexual intercourse with one of his father’s wives, for he has violated his father.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
Проклят, хто зійдеться з якою скотиною! І ввесь народ скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who has sexual intercourse with an animal.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’

Проклят, хто згрішить із сестрою, з дочкою свого батька або з дочкою своєї матері! І ввесь народ скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who has sexual intercourse with his sister, whether she is the daughter of his father or his mother.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
Проклят, хто згрішить із своєю тещею! І ввесь народ скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who has sexual intercourse with his mother-in-law.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
Проклят, хто тайкома вб'є свого ближнього! І ввесь народ скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who attacks a neighbor in secret.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
Проклят, хто бере дарунок (підкуп), щоб погубити душу безвинну! І ввесь народ скаже: Амінь!
‘Cursed is anyone who accepts payment to kill an innocent person.’
And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
