    Nations Descended from Noah

    Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood.

    Сини Яфетові: Гомер та Магог, та Мадай, та Яван да Тубал, та Месех, да Тирас.

    The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

    А сини Гомерові: Аскеназ та Рифат та Тогарма.

    The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, [a]Riphath, and Togarmah.
  • 4
    А сини Яванові: Елиса, да Тарсис, Киттим та Доданим.
  • 4
    The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and [b]Dodanim.
  • 5
    Від сих розселились люде в країнах невірних, по землях своїх, по мовах своїх, по родинах своїх, по племенах своїх.

    From these the coastland peoples of the Gentiles were separated into their lands, everyone according to his language, according to their families, into their nations.

    А сини Хамові: Куш та Мизраїм, да Фут, да Канаан.

    The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, [c]Put, and Canaan.
  • 7
    А сини Кушові: Себа та Гавила, да Сабта, да Рахма, да Сабтека; а сини Рахмові: Шеба та Дедан.

    The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.

    І появив Куш Нимрода. Сей почав бути велетнем на землї.

    Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.
  • 9
    Сей був велетень ловець перед Господом; тим і мовляли: як Нимрод, велетень ловець перед Господом.

    He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.”
  • 10
    Царюваннє ж його роспростерлось на Бабилон, і Ерех, і Аккад, і Калне у Синеяр землї.

    And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

    Із тієї землї вийшов Ассур, та й збудовав Ниневу і Регобод-Ір, і Калаг,

    From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,
  • 12
    І Резен між Ниневою і Калагом; було то місто велике.

    and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city).

    Від Мизраїма родились Людій, Анамій, Легавій і Нафтухій,

    Mizraim begot Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

    І Патрусїй, Каслугій, від котрих пійшли Филистимцї, да Кафторій.

    Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines and Caphtorim).

    Від Канаана ж родились Зидон, його перворідень, та Хет,

    Canaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and Heth;
  • 16
    Євусій, та Аморій, та Гергасїй,
  • 16
    the Jebusite, the Amorite, and the Girgashite;
  • 17
    Та Гевій, да Аркей, да Синей,
  • 17
    the Hivite, the Arkite, and the Sinite;
  • 18
    Та Арвадїй, та Земарій, да Гаматїй; а потім розродились родини Канаанські.

    the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were dispersed.

    А займище Кананеїв сягало від Сидону до Герару, до Гази, до Содому і Гоморри й Адами й Зевоіму аж до Лаши.

    And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; then as you go toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

    Се сини Хамові по їх родинах, і мовах, і землях, і племіннях.

    These were the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands and in their nations.

    І Семові, праотцеві всїх дїтей Еберових, братові Яфетовому старшому, понароджувались сини.

    And children were born also to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, [d]the brother of Japheth the elder.

    Сини Семові: Елам, та Ассур, та Арфаксад, та Люд, та й Арам.

    The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.
  • 23
    А сини Арамові: Уз да Хул, да Гетер, да Маш.

    The sons of Aram were Uz, Hul, Gether, and [e]Mash.
  • 24
    Арфаксад же появив Салу, а Сала появив Ебера.

    [f]Arphaxad begot Salah, and Salah begot Eber.
  • 25
    А Еберові вроджено два сини; одного звали Фалек, бо за його життя земля була подїлена, а брата його на імя звали Йоктан.

    To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was [g]Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

    А Йоктан появив Алмодада та Шалефа, та Газармавета да Єраха,

    Joktan begot Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

    Та Гадорама, та Узала, та Диклу,

    Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

    Та Обаля, та Абимавеля, та Шеву,

    [h]Obal, Abimael, Sheba,

    Та Офира, та Гавилу, та Йовава. Всї 'ці сини Йоктанові.

    Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

    А поосїдали вони від Мешари до Сефари гори, що на схід сонця.

    And their dwelling place was from Mesha as you go toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.

    Се сини Семові по їх родинах, мовах, по їх займищах, по їх народовинах.

    These were the sons of Shem, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands, according to their nations.

    Се роди синів Ноягових по їх свояцтвах, по їх племіннях; і від них порозходились народи по землї після потопу.

    These were the families of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, in their nations; and from these the nations were divided on the earth after the flood.
