І кажуть йому слуги його: Ми зачували, що царі Ізраїлські милосердні; позволь же нам одягти чересла наші в вереттє, а на голови (шиї) взяти повороззя, та й пійти перед царя Ізраїлського; може, він зоставить тебе живим.

Кажуть йому його слуги: «Чули ми, що царі ізраїльські милосердні: дозволь, отже, нам одягти наші крижі у вереття, а на голови взяти мотузки, та й піти до царя ізраїльського. Може він зоставить тебе живим.»

І сказали до нього його слуги: „Ось ми чули, що царі Ізраїлевого дому — вони царі милости́ві. Покладім вере́тища на сте́гна свої, а шнури́ — на свої голови, і вийдім до Ізраїлевого царя, — може він пощади́ть твою душу“.

И сказали ему слуги его: мы слышали, что цари дома Израилева цари милостивые; позволь нам возложить вретища на чресла свои и верёвки на головы свои и пойти к царю Израильскому; может быть, он пощадит жизнь твою.

And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life. -
