Deliver Me, O Lord, From the Evil Man
{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Free me, O Jehovah, from the evil man; preserve me from the violent man:

Котрі злобу в серцї замишляють, що дня до бою збираються.
Who devise mischiefs in [their] heart; every day are they banded together for war.
Гострять язик свій, як у змія; їдь гадюча в устах їх.
They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
Сохрани мене, Господи, від рук беззаконного, від чоловіка насильного заступи мене, котрі задумали спинити кроки мої.
Keep me, O Jehovah, from the hands of the wicked [man], preserve me from the violent man, who devise to overthrow my steps.
Горді тайно заставили на мене сїла і посторонки, розіпняли сїтку при дорозї, западню приготовили для мене.
The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the way-side; they have set traps for me. Selah.
Сказав я до Господа: ти Бог мій! Почуй, Господи, благаннє моє!
I have said unto Jehovah, Thou art my God: give ear, O Jehovah, to the voice of my supplications.
Господь — Владика мій, твердиня снасення мого; ти покрив голову мою в день бою.
Jehovah, the Lord, is the strength of my salvation: thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
Не дай, Господи, напасникові оскому зігнати, не пособи задумам його! Не дай вознестись їм.
Grant not, O Jehovah, the desire of the wicked; further not his device: they would exalt themselves. Selah.
Отрута окружаючих мене, зараза з уст їх нехай на них самих спаде.
[As for] the head of those that encompass me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
Нехай посиплеться на них горюче угля! Нехай Бог кине їх в огонь, у вир, щоб не спаслися!
Let burning coals fall on them; let them be cast into the fire; into deep waters, that they rise not up again.
Чоловіку злорічивому, щоб не було життя йому на землї; чоловіка насильного, щоб злоба у пропасть його загнала.
Let not the man of [evil] tongue be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the man of violence to [his] ruin.
Я знаю, що Господь явить правосуддє пригнобленим, справедливість бідним.
I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted one, the right of the needy.
