Не вклоняйся їм і не служи їм, бо Я — Господь, Бог твій, Бог ревнивий, що карає за прови́ну батьків на синах, на третіх і на четвертих поколі́ннях тих, хто нена́видить Мене,

Не поклонятимешся їм і не служитимеш їм. Адже Я — Господь, твій Бог, Бог ревнивий, Який відплачує за гріхи батьків дітям до третього й четвертого покоління, — тим, хто ненавидить Мене,

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected — even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me.
