    Better is a dry morsel with quietness,
    Than a house full of [a]feasting with strife.

    And will share an inheritance among the brothers.

    У горнї й в огнї очищаєсь золото й срібло, Господь же витрібовує серця.

    A foolish son is a grief to his father,
    And bitterness to her who bore him.

    Не гарно се, на правого вину спихати, як і бити* старшину за суд справедливий.

    Also, to punish the righteous is not good,
    Nor to strike princes for their uprightness.

    Розумний — хто в словах здержливий, і мудрий той, в кого кров холодна.

    He who has knowledge spares his words,
    And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.
