    Слово Господнє, що надійшло до Михея Морастія за Юдейських царів Йоатама, Ахаза й Езекії, а було йому обявлене про Самарию й Ерусалим:

    The LORD gave this message to Micah of Moresheth during the years when Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were kings of Judah. The visions he saw concerned both Samaria and Jerusalem.

    Слухайте, всї народи, вважай, земле, й уся її повня! Нехай буде Господь Бог сьвідком проти вас, Господь із сьвятого храму свого.

    Attention! Let all the people of the world listen!
    Let the earth and everything in it hear.
    The Sovereign LORD is making accusations against you;
    the Lord speaks from his holy Temple.

    Ось бо, Господь вийде з пробутку свого, зійде вниз і возьме під ноги високих на землї.

    Look! The LORD is coming!
    He leaves his throne in heaven
    and tramples the heights of the earth.

    Гори розтануться під ним і долини, як віск від огня, стопнїють, мов ті води, що ллються з гори.

    The mountains melt beneath his feet
    and flow into the valleys
    like wax in a fire,
    like water pouring down a hill.

    А все воно — за Яковову безбожність, за гріх дому Ізрайлевого. Від кого безбожність Яковова? хиба ж не від Самариї? Від кого висоти в Юди? хиба ж не від Ерусалиму?

    And why is this happening?
    Because of the rebellion of Israela —
    yes, the sins of the whole nation.
    Who is to blame for Israel’s rebellion?
    Samaria, its capital city!
    Where is the center of idolatry in Judah?
    In Jerusalem, its capital!

    За се зроблю з Самариї купу розвалищ у полї, місцем, щоб на йому виногради садили; каміннє її позвергаю в долину, відкрию її підвалини.

    “So I, the LORD, will make the city of Samaria
    a heap of ruins.
    Her streets will be plowed up
    for planting vineyards.
    I will roll the stones of her walls into the valley below,
    exposing her foundations.

    Всї ідоли її порозбиваю, й усї дари її любодїйні спалю огнем, та й усї боввани її передам на розбиваннє; бо вона їх із плати за блудництво построїла й пійдуть вони дарами до (другої) блудницї.

    All her carved images will be smashed.
    All her sacred treasures will be burned.
    These things were bought with the money
    earned by her prostitution,
    and they will now be carried away
    to pay prostitutes elsewhere.”

    Тим же то буду ридати-голосити; як ограблений і обнажений, — ходити; вити, як шакал, як струсї, — пищати.

    Therefore, I will mourn and lament.
    I will walk around barefoot and naked.
    I will howl like a jackal
    and moan like an owl.

    Болючий бо побій її дійде аж до Юди, наближиться до ворот мого народу, до Ерусалиму.

    For my people’s wound
    is too deep to heal.
    It has reached into Judah,
    even to the gates of Jerusalem.

    Не пускайте ж про се поголоски хоч у Гетї, не голосїте там; ув оселї Офра покрийте себе попелом.

    Don’t tell our enemies in Gathb;
    don’t weep at all.
    You people in Beth-leaphrah,c
    roll in the dust to show your despair.

    Переселяйтесь (у неволю), Шафирські осадницї, стидовично понажені; не втече й осадниця Заананська; плач у Езелї не дасть вам з'упинитись там.

    You people in Shaphir,d
    go as captives into exile — naked and ashamed.
    The people of Zaanane
    dare not come outside their walls.
    The people of Beth-ezelf mourn,
    for their house has no support.

    Оплакує своє добро осадниця Мароти, бо лихолїттє наближується й до воріт Ерусалимських.

    The people of Marothg anxiously wait for relief,
    but only bitterness awaits them
    as the LORD’s judgment reaches
    even to the gates of Jerusalem.

    Запрягай в колесницю бистрих, ти, Лахиська осаднице, ти бо — початком гріхів дочки Сионової, в тобі бо появились перші проступки Ізраїля.

    Harness your chariot horses and flee,
    you people of Lachish.h
    You were the first city in Judah
    to follow Israel in her rebellion,
    and you led Jerusalemi into sin.

    Тим же то будеш ти посилати дари в Морешет-Гет; люде ж Ахзивські будуть оманом царям Ізраїлським.

    Send farewell gifts to Moresheth-gathj;
    there is no hope of saving it.
    The town of Aczibk
    has deceived the kings of Israel.

    Я ще нашлю на тебе, осаднице Мореша, здобичника; він досягне до Оддоламу, — сієї слави Ізрайлевої.

    O people of Mareshah,l
    I will bring a conqueror to capture your town.
    And the leadersm of Israel
    will go to Adullam.

    Ой обстрижи ж — обголи собі голову по дїтях твоїх, щиро коханих; розшири по них лисину, як орел, коли лїниться; бо переселять їх від тебе в неволю.

    Oh, people of Judah, shave your heads in sorrow,
    for the children you love will be snatched away.
    Make yourselves as bald as a vulture,
    for your little ones will be exiled to distant lands.
