Duties of the Kohathites
Then the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
Then the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
Перелїчіть голови в синів Кегатових, між синами Левієвими, по родинах їх, по батьківських домах їх,
“Take a census of the descendants of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, by their families, by their fathers’ households,
Від трийцять років і старше аж до пятьдесяти років, усїх спосібних до роботи, щоб робити дїло при соборному наметї.
from thirty years and upward, even to fifty years old, all who enter the service to do the work in the tent of meeting.
Буде ж служба синів Кегатових коло соборного намету: носити сьвятиню сьвятинь.
“This is the work of the descendants of Kohath in the tent of meeting, concerning the most holy things.
І увійдуть Арон та сини його, як треба рушати таборові, і знїмуть вони закриваючу завісу і вкриють нею скриню сьвідчення;
“When the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons shall go in and they shall take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it;
І положять вони на ню покривало із барсучих шкір і накинуть на неї простирало з блавату та й повсовують носила її.
and they shall lay a covering of porpoise skin on it, and shall spread over it a cloth of pure blue, and shall insert its poles.
І стіл для покладного хлїба застелють обрусом з блавату та й поставлять на йому полумиски і чаші і кадильницї і збанки для жертви ливної; і повсячасний хлїб буде на йому.
“Over the table of the bread of the Presence they shall also spread a cloth of blue and put on it the dishes and the pans and the sacrificial bowls and the jars for the drink offering, and the continual bread shall be on it.
І на все те накинуть покривало з кармазину і покриють покривалом із барсукових шкір; та й повсовують носила його;
“They shall spread over them a cloth of scarlet material, and cover the same with a covering of porpoise skin, and they shall insert its poles.
І возьмуть плахту з блавату та й накриють сьвітильника й лямпи його і щипцї його і гасїльницї його і всю посудину на олїю до його, що її уживають до його.
“Then they shall take a blue cloth and cover the lampstand for the light, along with its lamps and its snuffers, and its trays and all its oil vessels, by which they serve it;
І обгорнуть його й усю посудину його покривалом з барсучих шкір, та й положять на ноші.
and they shall put it and all its utensils in a covering of porpoise skin, and shall put it on the carrying bars.
А на жертівника золотого накинуть плахту з блавату, та й укриють його покривалом із барсучих шкір і повсовують носила його.
“Over the golden altar they shall spread a blue cloth and cover it with a covering of porpoise skin, and shall insert its poles;
І возьмуть всю посудину службову, що на службу в сьвятинї, та й положять її в плахту блаватову та й накриють покривалом із барсучих шкір і положять на ноші.
and they shall take all the utensils of service, with which they serve in the sanctuary, and put them in a blue cloth and cover them with a covering of porpoise skin, and put them on the carrying bars.
І виберуть попіл із жертівника та й накриють його обрусом з пурпуру,
“Then they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth over it.
І положять на йому увесь посуд його, потрібний до служби на йому: кадильницї і вилка й кочерги і бризькала і все надібє до жертівника; і накриють все те покривалом з барсучих шкір, та й попросовують носила його.
“They shall also put on it all its utensils by which they serve in connection with it: the firepans, the forks and shovels and the basins, all the utensils of the altar; and they shall spread a cover of porpoise skin over it and insert its poles.
А як Арон і сини його скіньчать накривати сьвятиню і всю посудину сьвятинї, щоб рушити потім з табором, то прийдуть тодї синове Кегата, щоб нести, та щоб не торкнулись сьвятого та й не вмерли. Се те із соборного намету, що синове Кегата нести мають.
“When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy objects and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is to set out, after that the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them, so that they will not touch the holy objects and die. These are the things in the tent of meeting which the sons of Kohath are to carry.
Елеазар же, син Арона сьвященника, мати ме догляд над олїєю для сьвітильника та над кадильними пахощами, та над повсячасною жертвою хлїбною, та над миром, та догляд над цїлою храминою і над усїм, що є в нїй, над сьвятинею як і над посудиною її.
“The responsibility of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest is the oil for the light and the fragrant incense and the continual grain offering and the anointing oil — the responsibility of all the tabernacle and of all that is in it, with the sanctuary and its furnishings.”
Дбати мете ви, щоб поколїння родин Кегатіїв не викоренилось зміж Левітів;
“Do not let the tribe of the families of the Kohathites be cut off from among the Levites.
А от що чинити мете з ними, щоб жили та не померли, як приступлять до пресьвятого: Арон і сини його мусять увійти і поставити кожного з них до його служби і до тягару його;
“But do this to them that they may live and not die when they approach the most holy objects: Aaron and his sons shall go in and assign each of them to his work and to his load;
Та неможна їм увійти та й озирати сьвяте хоч би тілько на хвилинку, ато помруть.
but they shall not go in to see the holy objects even for a moment, or they will die.”
Перелїчи голови синів Герсонових по батьківських домах їх, по родинах їх;
“Take a census of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers’ households, by their families;
Від трийцяти років і старше до пятьдесять років перелїчиш їх, усїх спосібних до роботи, щоб послугували в соборному наметї.
from thirty years and upward to fifty years old, you shall number them; all who enter to perform the service to do the work in the tent of meeting.
Буде ж робота родин Герсонових, що до служби і до тягарів, така:
“This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and in carrying:
Нести муть вони келїми храмини, і соборний намет, покривало його і покривало із барсучих шкір, що зверху на йому, та завісу коло входу в соборний намет,
they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the tent of meeting with its covering and the covering of porpoise skin that is on top of it, and the screen for the doorway of the tent of meeting,
І опони з двора, і опону, що при входї воріт у дворі, що є кругом храмини і жертівника і мотузи до них і всяку посудину службову їх; і все, що треба зробити з ними, мусять зробити.

По приказам Арона і синів його буде вся послуга синів Герзонїїв, чи нести муть тягарі чи робити муть яку роботу свою; і поручите їм берегти усе, що нести муть.
“All the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their loads and in all their work, shall be performed at the command of Aaron and his sons; and you shall assign to them as a duty all their loads.
Така послуга родин синів Герсонїїв при соборному наметї; а дбати муть вони про службу під доглядом Ітамара, Ароненка, сьвященника.
“This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting, and their duties shall be under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
Синів Мерарієвих перелїчиш по родинах їх, по батьківських домах їх;
Duties of the Merarites
“As for the sons of Merari, you shall number them by their families, by their fathers’ households;
Від трийцяти років і старше до пятьдесять років перелїчиш їх, усїх, що стануть до роботи, на послугу в соборному наметї.
from thirty years and upward even to fifty years old, you shall number them, everyone who enters the service to do the work of the tent of meeting.
І се тягарі, що їх нести мають, по службі своїй в соборному наметї: дошки храмини і засуви її і стовпи її і стояла їх.
“Now this is the duty of their loads, for all their service in the tent of meeting: the boards of the tabernacle and its bars and its pillars and its sockets,
І стовпи в дворі всї кругом і стояла їх і прикілки їх і верівки їх, з усїм знаряддєм їх і зо всїєю послугою їх; і розлїчіть по йменам речі, що мають їх нести.
and the pillars around the court and their sockets and their pegs and their cords, with all their equipment and with all their service; and you shall assign each man by name the items he is to carry.
Се послуга родин синів Мерарієвих, по всякій службі їх у соборному наметї, під надзором Ітамара Ароненка, сьвященника.
“This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service in the tent of meeting, under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.”
І перелїчили Мойсей та Арон та князї громадські Кегатових синів по родинах їх і по батьківських домах їх;
So Moses and Aaron and the leaders of the congregation numbered the sons of the Kohathites by their families and by their fathers’ households,
Від трийцяти років і старше до пятьдесять років, усїх спосібних до роботи, на послугу в соборному наметї.
from thirty years and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered the service for work in the tent of meeting.
І було перелїчених їх по родинах їх дві тисячі сїмсот і пятьдесять.
Their numbered men by their families were 2,750.
Се перелїчені з родин Кегатових, всї що були на послугу при соборному наметї, що їх перелїчив Мойсей та Арон, по слову Господньому через Мойсея.
These are the numbered men of the Kohathite families, everyone who was serving in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of the LORD through Moses.
Перелїчено і синів Герсонових по родинах їх, по батьківських домах їх,
The numbered men of the sons of Gershon by their families and by their fathers’ households,
Від трийцяти років і старше до пятьдесять років, всїх спосібних до роботи, на послугу в соборному наметї.
from thirty years and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered the service for work in the tent of meeting.
І було перелїчених їх по родинах їх, по батьківських домах їх, дві тисячі шістьсот і трийцять.
Their numbered men by their families, by their fathers’ households, were 2,630.
Се перелїчені з родин Герсонових, всї що послугували при соборному наметї, що їх перелїчили Мойсей та Арон, по слову Господньому.
These are the numbered men of the families of the sons of Gershon, everyone who was serving in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of the LORD.
І перелїчено родини в синів Мерарієвих по семях їх, по батьківських домах іх,
The numbered men of the families of the sons of Merari by their families, by their fathers’ households,
Від трийцяти років і старше до пятьдесять років, усїх спосібних до роботи, на послугу в соборному наметї.
from thirty years and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered the service for work in the tent of meeting.
І було перелїчених їх по родинам їх, три тисячі й двістї.
Their numbered men by their families were 3,200.
Се перелїчені з родин синів Мерарієвих, що перелїчили Мойсей та Арон, по слову Господньому через Мойсея.
These are the numbered men of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of the LORD through Moses.
Усїх перелїчених Левітів, що перелїчив їх Мойсей з Ароном та з князями Ізрайлевими, по родинах їх, по батьківських домах їх,
All the numbered men of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the leaders of Israel numbered, by their families and by their fathers’ households,
Від трийцяти років і старших, до пятьдесять років, усїх, що ставали на службу при соборному наметї, щоб послугу робити і носити,
from thirty years and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who could enter to do the work of service and the work of carrying in the tent of meeting.
Перелїчено їх по слову Господньому через Мойсея, кожного по послузї своій і по тягарах своїх, що їх нести мають. І перелїчено їх, як повелїв Господь Мойсейові.
According to the commandment of the LORD through Moses, they were numbered, everyone by his serving or carrying; thus these were his numbered men, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
