Та люд озвавсь до Саула: Чи ж то Йонатана стратити, що сю велику побіду вчинив в Ізраїлї? Нї, сьому не бути! Як живе Господь, і волосинка не впаде на землю з голови його, бо за Божою підмогою він учинив її. І визволив люд Йонатана від смертї.

Тоді народ озвався до Саула: «Вмирати Йонатанові, що довершив оцю велику перемогу в Ізраїлі? Не бути цьому, як живий Господь, і волосинки не впаде в нього з голови на землю, бо він за Божою допомогою виконав це сьогодні.» Отак народ урятував Йонатана від смерти.

А народ сказав до Саула: „Чи помирати Йоната́нові, що зробив оце велике спасі́ння в Ізраїлі? Борони Боже! Як живий Господь, — не спаде́ волоси́на з голови його на землю, бо з Богом робив він цього дня!“ І визволив наро́д Йонатана, і він не помер.

Та народ сказав Саулові: Хіба сьогодні помре той, хто вчинив це велике спасіння в Ізраїлі? Нехай живе Господь! Якщо на землю впаде волос з його голови… адже Божий народ зробив цей день! І народ помолився за Йонатана в той день, і він не помер.

Но народ сказал Саулу: Ионафану ли умереть, который доставил столь великое спасение Израилю? Да не будет этого! Жив Господь, и волос не упадёт с головы его на землю, ибо с Богом он действовал ныне. И освободил народ Ионафана, и не умер он.

And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: as the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.

But the men said to Saul, “Should Jonathan die — he who has brought about this great deliverance in Israel? Never! As surely as the Lord lives, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground, for he did this today with God’s help.” So the men rescued Jonathan, and he was not put to death. -

Но народ сказал Саулу:
— Ионафану ли умереть — тому, кто принес Израилю великое избавление? Нет! Верно, как и то, что жив Господь, ни один волос с его головы не упадет на землю, потому что он действовал сегодня с Божьей помощью.
Так народ спас Ионафана, и тот не был предан смерти. -
But the people said to Saul, “Shall Jonathan die, who has accomplished this great deliverance in Israel? Certainly not! As the Lord lives, not one hair of his head shall fall to the ground, for he has worked with God this day.” So the people rescued Jonathan, and he did not die.
