Як вернувся ж люд у табір, говорили громадські мужі Ізрайлеві: За що побив нас сьогоднї Господь перед Филистіями? Ось візьмімо з Силому до себе скриню закону Господнього, щоб ійшла посеред нас і спасла нас із рук ворогів наших.

Як же повернувся люд у табір, старші Ізраїля сказали: «Чому Господь побив нас сьогодні перед філістимлянами? Візьмім із Шіло ковчег Господнього союзу, щоб ішов посеред нас і спас нас із рук ворогів наших!»

І прийшов наро́д до табо́ру, а Ізраїлеві старші́ сказали: „Чому́ вдарив нас Господь сьогодні перед филисти́млянами? Візьмі́мо собі з Шіло́ ковчега Господнього заповіту, і нехай вві́йде поміж нас, і нехай спасе нас із рук наших ворогів“.

І пішов народ до табору, і сказали ізраїльські старійшини: Чому спричинив наш Господь, що сьогодні впали ми перед филистимцями, візьмемо ковчег нашого Бога із Силома, і нехай вийде посеред нас і спасе нас з руки наших ворогів.

И пришёл народ в стан; и сказали старейшины Израилевы: за что поразил нас Господь сегодня пред Филистимлянами? возьмём себе из Силома ковчег завета Господня, и он пойдёт среди нас и спасёт нас от руки врагов наших.

And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the LORD smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.

When the soldiers returned to camp, the elders of Israel asked, “Why did the Lord bring defeat on us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Shiloh, so that he may go with us and save us from the hand of our enemies.” -

After the battle was over, the troops retreated to their camp, and the elders of Israel asked, “Why did the LORD allow us to be defeated by the Philistines?” Then they said, “Let’s bring the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD from Shiloh. If we carry it into battle with us, ita will save us from our enemies.”
