Abraham and Keturah
And Abraham took another wife named Keturah.
And Abraham took another wife named Keturah.
А вона породила йому Зімрана, і Йокшана, і Мадана, і Мідіяна, і Їшбака, і Шуаха.
And she bore him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
А Йокшан породив був Шеву та Дедана. А сини Деданові були: ашшури, і летуші, і леуми.
And Jokshan begot Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were the Asshurim, and the Letushim, and the Leummim.
А сини Мідіянові: Ефа, і Ефер, і Ханох, і Авіда, і Елдаа, — усі вони сини Кетури.
And the sons of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah.
А синам наложниць, що були в Авраама, дав Авраам подарунки, і відіслав їх від Ісака, сина свого, коли сам ще живий був, на схід, до краю східнього.
And to the sons of the concubines that Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and, while he yet lived, sent them away from Isaac his son, eastward to the east country.
А оце дні літ Авраамового життя, які він прожив: сто літ, і сімдесят літ, і п'ять літ.
The Death of Abraham
And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived: a hundred and seventy-five years.
And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived: a hundred and seventy-five years.
І спочи́в та й умер Авраам у старощах добрих, старий і нажившись. І він прилучився до своєї рідні.
And Abraham expired and died in a good old age, old and full [of days]; and was gathered to his peoples.
І поховали його Ісак та Ізмаїл, сини його, у печері Махпелі, на полі Ефрона, сина Цохара хітте́янина, що навпроти Мамре́, —
And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which was opposite to Mamre --
поле, що його Авраам був купив від синів Хетових,— там був похований Авраам і Сарра, жінка його.
the field that Abraham had purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
І сталося по Авраамовій смерті, — і поблагословив Бог Ісака, сина його. І осів Ісак при криниці Лахай-Рої.
And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac dwelt at Beer-lahai-roi.
А оце нащадки Ізмаїла, Авраамового сина, що його породила Авраамові єгиптянка Аґар, невільниця Саррина.
The Descendants of Ishmael
And these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's bondwoman, bore to Abraham.

І оце імена синів Ізмаїла, за їхніми іменами й за нащадками їх: перворідний Ізмаїлів Невайот, і Кедар, і Адбеїл, і Мівсам,
And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their names according to their generations: Nebaioth, the firstborn of Ishmael; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
Оце вони, сини Ізмаїлові, і їхні ймення за дворами їх і за їх кочови́щами, — дванадцять начальників для їхніх племен.
These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, in their hamlets and their encampments -- twelve princes of their peoples.
А оце літа життя Ізмаїлового: сто літ, і тридцять літ, і сім літ. І спочи́в та й умер він, і був узятий до своєї рідні.
And these are the years of the life of Ishmael: a hundred and thirty-seven years; and he expired and died, and was gathered to his peoples.
І розложилися вони від Хавіли аж до Шуру, що навпроти Єгипту, як іти до Ашшуру. І він оселився перед усіма свої́ми братами.
And they dwelt from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite to Egypt, as one goes towards Assyria. He settled before the face of all his brethren.
А оце о́повість про Ісака, Авраамового сина. Авраам породив Ісака.
Jacob and Esau
And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham begot Isaac.
And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham begot Isaac.
І був Ісак віку сорока літ, як він узяв собі за жінку Ревеку, дочку Бетуїла арамеянина, з Падану арамейського, сестру арамеянина Лавана.
And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebecca as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.
І молився Ісак до Господа про жінку свою, бо неплідна була. І Господь був ублаганий ним, — і завагітніла Ревека, жінка його.
And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren; and Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebecca his wife conceived.
І кидалися діти в утробі її. І сказала вона: „Коли так, то для чого я це переношу!“ І пішла запитатися Господа.
And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of Jehovah.
І промовив до неї Господь: „Два племе́на в утробі твоїй, і два наро́ди з твого нутра́ будуть виділені, і стане сильніший наро́д від наро́ду, і старший молодшому бу́де служити“.
And Jehovah said to her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; And one people shall be stronger than the other people, And the elder shall serve the younger.
І сповнились дні її, щоб родити, — і ось близнюки в утробі її.
And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
І вийшов перший червонуватий, увесь він — немов плащ волосяний. І назвали ймення йому: Ісав.
And the first came out red -- all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
А потім вийшов його брат, а рука його трималася п'яти Ісава. І назвав ім'я́ йому: Яків. А Ісак був віку шостидесяти літ, коли народились вони.
And after that came his brother out; and his hand took hold of Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when they were born.
І виросли хлопці. І став Ісав чоловіком, що знався на вловах, чоловіком поля, а Яків — чоловіком мирним, що в наметах сидів.
And the boys grew, and Esau became a man skilled in hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob was a homely man, dwelling in tents.
І полюбив Ісак Ісава, бо здобич мисливська його йому смакувала, а Ревека любила Якова.
And Isaac loved Esau, because venison was to his taste; and Rebecca loved Jacob.
І зварив був Яків ї́жу, а з поля прибув Ісав, і змучений був.
Esau Sells his Birthright
And Jacob had cooked a dish; and Esau came from the field, and he was faint.
And Jacob had cooked a dish; and Esau came from the field, and he was faint.
І сказав Ісав до Якова: „Нагодуй мене отим червоним, червоним отим, бо змучений я“. Тому то назвали ймення йому: Едом.
And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with the red -- the red thing there, for I am faint. Therefore was his name called Edom.
А Яків сказав: „Продай же нині мені своє перворідство“.
And Jacob said, Sell me now thy birthright.
І промовив Ісав: „Ось я умираю, — то нащо ж мені оте перворідство?“
And Esau said, Behold, I am going to die, and of what use can the birthright be to me?
А Яків сказав: „Присягни ж мені нині“. І той присягнув йому, і продав перворідство своє Якову.
And Jacob said, Swear unto me now. And he swore unto him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.
