І покликав Давид священиків Садо́ка та Евіятара, та Левитів: Уріїла, Асаю, і Йоїла, Шемаю і Еліїла, і Аммінадава
Then David summoned Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel and Amminadab the Levites.
та й сказав до них: „Ви го́лови родів Левитів. Освяті́ться ви та ваші брати, і перенесе́те ковчега Господа, Бога Ізраїлевого, до місця, яке пригото́вив я йому́.
He said to them, “You are the heads of the Levitical families; you and your fellow Levites are to consecrate yourselves and bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel, to the place I have prepared for it.
Бо через те, що споча́тку не ви це робили, то вдарив нас Господь, Бог наш, бо ми не шукали Його так, як належало“.
It was because you, the Levites, did not bring it up the first time that the Lord our God broke out in anger against us. We did not inquire of him about how to do it in the prescribed way.”
І освятилися священики та Левити, щоб перене́сти ковчега Господа, Бога Ізраїлевого.
So the priests and Levites consecrated themselves in order to bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel.
І поне́сли сини Левитів Божого ковчега, як наказав був Мойсей за Господнім словом, на пле́чах своїх, на держака́х, на собі.
And the Levites carried the ark of God with the poles on their shoulders, as Moses had commanded in accordance with the word of the Lord.
І сказав Давид зверхникам Левитів, щоб поставили своїх братів співакі́в на прила́ддях пісні, на ци́трах, а́рфах, та тих, що грають на цимба́лах, щоб підне́сти голос на радість.
David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their fellow Levites as musicians to make a joyful sound with musical instruments: lyres, harps and cymbals.
І поставили Левити Гемана, Йоїлового сина, а з братів його — Асафа, сина Берехії, а з сині́в Мерарі, їхніх братів — Етана, сина Кушаї.
So the Levites appointed Heman son of Joel; from his relatives, Asaph son of Berekiah; and from their relatives the Merarites, Ethan son of Kushaiah;
А з ними їхніх братів других: Захарія, і Яазіїла, і Шемірамота, і Єхіїла, і Унні, Еліава, і Бенаю, і Маасею, і Маттітію, і Еліфлея, і Мікнею, і Овед-Едома, і Єіїла, — придве́рних.
А співаків: Гемана, Асафа та Етана — грати на мідяни́х цимба́лах.
The musicians Heman, Asaph and Ethan were to sound the bronze cymbals;
А Захарія, і Азіїла, і Шемірамота, і Єхіїла, і Унні, і Еліава, і Маасею, і Бенаю — на ци́трах, на аламот.
А Маттітію, і Еліфелегу, і Мікнею, і Овед-Едома, і Єїла, і Азазію — на а́рфах, на окта́ві, щоб починати гру.
А Кенанію, зверхника Левитів, — над но́шенням; він навчав носити, бо вмів того.
Kenaniah the head Levite was in charge of the singing; that was his responsibility because he was skillful at it.
А Берехія та Елкана — придве́рні при ковчезі.
Berekiah and Elkanah were to be doorkeepers for the ark.
А Шеванія, І Йосафат, і Натанаїл, і Амасай, і Захарій, і Беная, і Еліезер, священики, — сурми́ли в су́рми перед Божим ковчегом, а Овед-Едом та Єхійя — придве́рні для ковчега.
Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah and Eliezer the priests were to blow trumpets before the ark of God. Obed-Edom and Jehiah were also to be doorkeepers for the ark.
І пішов Давид і Ізраїлеві старші́ та тисячники, щоб перене́сти ковчега Господнього заповіту з Овед-Едомового дому з радістю.
So David and the elders of Israel and the commanders of units of a thousand went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-Edom, with rejoicing.
І сталося, коли Бог допомагав Левитам, що не́сли ковчега Господнього заповіту, то вони прине́сли в жертву сім биків та сім баранів.
Because God had helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, seven bulls and seven rams were sacrificed.
А Давид був зодя́гнений в одежу з вісо́ну, як і всі Левити, що не́сли ковчега, і співаки́, і Кенанія, зверхник но́шення і співакі́в, а на Давиді був ще й льняни́й ефо́д.
Now David was clothed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and as were the musicians, and Kenaniah, who was in charge of the singing of the choirs. David also wore a linen ephod.
І ввесь Ізраїль ніс ковчега Господнього заповіту з радісним криком, і зо звуком рога, і з су́рмами, і з цимба́лами, гра́ючи на ци́трах та на а́рфах.
So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouts, with the sounding of rams’ horns and trumpets, and of cymbals, and the playing of lyres and harps.
І сталося, коли ковчег Господнього заповіту прийшов аж до Давидового Міста, то Мелхо́ла, Саулова дочка́, виглядала через вікно. І побачила вона царя Давида, що танцював та грав, і знева́жила його в своєму серці.
As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.
