А ввесь Ізраїль був перепи́саний, й ось вони були запи́сані в книзі Ізраїлевих царів. А Юда був пересе́лений до Вавилону за своє спроневі́рення.

So all Israel was listed in the genealogical records in The Book of the Kings of Israel.
The Returning Exiles

The people of Judah were exiled to Babylon because they were unfaithful to the LORD.

А перші ме́шканці, що сиділи в своїй посілості, по своїх містах, були: Ізраїль, священики, Левити та слуги храму.

The first of the exiles to return to their property in their former towns were priests, Levites, Temple servants, and other Israelites.

А в Єрусалимі сиділи з Юдиних синів, і з Веніяминових синів, і з синів Єфремових та Манасіїних:

Some of the people from the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh came and settled in Jerusalem.

Утай, син Аммігуда, сина Омрі, сина Імрі, сина Бані, з синів Переца, Юдиного сина.

4

One family that returned was that of Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, a descendant of Perez son of Judah.

А з шілонян: перворо́джений Асая та сини́ його.

Others returned from the Shilonite clan, including Asaiah (the oldest) and his sons.

А з синів Зерахових: Єуїл та брати їх, — шість сотень і дев'ятдеся́т.

From the Zerahite clan, Jeuel returned with his relatives.
In all, 690 families from the tribe of Judah returned.

А з синів Веніяминових: Саллу, син Мешуллама, сина Годавії, сина Сенуї,

From the tribe of Benjamin came Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah;

і Ївнея, син Єрохамів; і Ела, син Уззі, сина Міхрі, і Мешуллам, син Шефатії, сина Реуїла, сина Ївнійї,

Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, son of Micri; and Meshullam son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah.

і брати їхні за їхніми наща́дками, — дев'ять сотень і п'ятдеся́т і шість. Усі ці мужі — го́лови батькі́в, дому батьків своїх.

These men were all leaders of clans, and they were listed in their genealogical records. In all, 956 families from the tribe of Benjamin returned.
The Returning Priests

А із священиків: Єдая, і Єгоярів, і Яхін.

Among the priests who returned were Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, Jakin,

А Азарія, син Хілкійї, сина Мешуллама, сина Садока, сина Мерайота, сина Ахітава, — управи́тель Божого дому ;

11

Azariah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub. Azariah was the chief officer of the house of God.

12

і Адая, син Єрохама, сина Нашхура, сина Малкійї; і Масай, син Адіїла, сина Яхзери, сина Мешуллама, сина Мешіллеміта, сина Іммера;

Other returning priests were Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malkijah, and Maasai son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah, son of Meshullam, son of Meshillemith, son of Immer.

13

і брати їх, го́лови дому своїх батьків — тисяча й сім сотень і шістдеся́т, дуже добрі мужі на працю в ділі Божого дому.

In all, 1,760 priests returned. They were heads of clans and very able men. They were responsible for ministering at the house of God.
The Returning Levites

14

А з Левитів: Шемая, син Хассува, сина Азрікама, сина Хашав'ї, з синів Мерарі;

14

The Levites who returned were Shemaiah son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, a descendant of Merari;

15

і Бакбаккар, Хереш, і Балал, і Маттанія, син Міхи, сина Зіхрі, сина Асафа;

15

Bakbakkar; Heresh; Galal; Mattaniah son of Mica, son of Zicri, son of Asaph;

16

і Авадія, син Шемаї, сина Ґалала, сина Єдутуна; і Берехія, син Аси, сина Елкани, що сидів в осадах нетоф'ян.

16

Obadiah son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun; and Berekiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who lived in the area of Netophah.

17

А придве́рні: Шаллум, і Аккув, і Талмон, і Ахіман, і брати їхні; Шаллум був голова.

17

The gatekeepers who returned were Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their relatives. Shallum was the chief gatekeeper.

18

І аж дотепе́р вони в царські́й брамі на схід, вони придве́рні табо́рів Левієвих синів.

18

Prior to this time, they were responsible for the King’s Gate on the east side. These men served as gatekeepers for the camps of the Levites.

19

А Шаллум, син Коре, сина Ев'ясафа, сина Кораха, і брати його з дому його батька, корахівці, на праці служби, стерегли́ пороги скинії, а їхні батьки були над Господнім табо́ром, стерегли вхід.

Shallum was the son of Kore, a descendant of Abiasaph,a from the clan of Korah. He and his relatives, the Korahites, were responsible for guarding the entrance to the sanctuary, just as their ancestors had guarded the Tabernacle in the camp of the LORD.

20

І Пінхас, син Елеазарів, був над ними колись зве́рхником, і Господь був із ним.

20

Phinehas son of Eleazar had been in charge of the gatekeepers in earlier times, and the LORD had been with him.

21

Захарій, син Мешелемії, був придве́рний при вході скинії заповіту.

21

And later Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was responsible for guarding the entrance to the Tabernacle.b

22

Усіх їх, ви́браних на придве́рних при поро́гах, було двісті й дванадцять. Вони переписані по своїх оса́дах. Їх поставив Давид та прозорли́вець Самуїл за їх вірність.

22

In all, there were 212 gatekeepers in those days, and they were listed according to the genealogies in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed their ancestors because they were reliable men.

23

І вони та їхні сини були при брамах Господнього дому, дому скинії, за ва́ртами.

23

These gatekeepers and their descendants, by their divisions, were responsible for guarding the entrance to the house of the LORD when that house was a tent.

24

На чотири боки були придве́рні: на схід, на за́хід, на пі́вніч, на пі́вдень.

24

The gatekeepers were stationed on all four sides — east, west, north, and south.

25

А брати їхні були по се́лах, мусіли прихо́дити на сім день, від ча́су до ча́су, щоб бути з ними на службі,

25

Their relatives in the villages came regularly to share their duties for seven-day periods.

26

бо в службі були чотири перші придве́рні, вони Левити; вони ж доглядали поме́шкань та скарбів Божого дому.

The four chief gatekeepers, all Levites, were trusted officials, for they were responsible for the rooms and treasuries at the house of God.

27

І вони всю ніч перебува́ли навколо Божого дому, бо на них був обов'я́зок ва́рти, і вони щоранку відмикали двері.

27

They would spend the night around the house of God, since it was their duty to guard it and to open the gates every morning.

28

І з них були дехто коло службо́вого по́суду, бо за числом його прино́сили, і за числом його вино́сили.

28

Some of the gatekeepers were assigned to care for the various articles used in worship. They checked them in and out to avoid any loss.

29

І з них дехто були призначені до по́суду та до всяких святих речей: і над пшеничною мукою, і над вином, і над оливою, і над ладаном, і над па́хощами.

29

Others were responsible for the furnishings, the items in the sanctuary, and the supplies, such as choice flour, wine, olive oil, frankincense, and spices.

30

А з священичих синів були ті, що мішали запашне́ на кадило.

30

But it was the priests who blended the spices.

31

А Маттітія з Левитів, — він перворо́джений корахівця Шаллума, — був у службі над справою сковорід.

31

Mattithiah, a Levite and the oldest son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with baking the bread used in the offerings.

32

А з синів кегатівців, з їхніх браті́в, були над хлібом показни́м, щоб приготовля́ти щосуботи.

32

And some members of the clan of Kohath were in charge of preparing the bread to be set on the table each Sabbath day.

33

А оце співаки́, го́лови ба́тьківських домів Левитів, по кімна́тах, були вільні від іншої праці, бо вдень та вночі були́ вони при своїй роботі.

33

The musicians, all prominent Levites, lived at the Temple. They were exempt from other responsibilities since they were on duty at all hours.

Оце го́лови ба́тьківських домів Левитів за їхніми наща́дками, го́лови, що сиділи в Єрусалимі.

All these men lived in Jerusalem. They were the heads of Levite families and were listed as prominent leaders in their genealogical records.
King Saul’s Family Tree

А в Ґів'оні сиділи: ба́тько Ґів'ону Єіїл, а ім'я́ його жінці Мааха,

Jeiel (the father ofc Gibeon) lived in the town of Gibeon. His wife’s name was Maacah,

і перворо́джений син його Авдон, і Цур, і Кіш, і Баал, і Нер, і Надав,

and his oldest son was named Abdon. Jeiel’s other sons were Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

і Ґедор, і Ахйо, і Захарій, і Міклот.

Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.

А Міклот породив Шім'ама. І вони теж сиділи в Єрусалимі при брата́х своїх, зо своїми брата́ми.

Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. All these families lived near each other in Jerusalem.

39

А Нер породив Кіша, а Кіш породив Саула, а Саул породив і Йонатана, і Малкі-Шую, і Авінадава, і Ешбаала.

Ner was the father of Kish.
Kish was the father of Saul.
Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malkishua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.

40

А син Йонатанів — Мерів-Баал, а Мерів-Баал породив Міху.

40

Jonathan was the father of Merib-baal.
Merib-baal was the father of Micah.

41

А сини Міхи: Пітон, і Мелех, і Тахрея.

41

The sons of Micah were Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.d

А Ахаз породив Яру, а Яра, породив Алмета, і Азмавета, і Зімрі. А Зімрі породив Моцу.

Ahaz was the father of Jadah.e
Jadah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri.
Zimri was the father of Moza.

43

А Моца породив Бін'ю, його син — Рефая, його син — Ел'аса, його син — Ацел.

Moza was the father of Binea.
Binea’s son was Rephaiah.
Rephaiah’s son was Eleasah.
Eleasah’s son was Azel.

44

А в Ацела було ше́стеро синів, а оце їхні імена: Азрікам, Бохеру, і Ізмаїл, і Шеар'я, і Овадія, і Ханан, — оце сини Ацелові.

44

Azel had six sons, whose names were Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.
