А двадцятого й четвертого дня того місяця зібра́лися Ізраїлеві сини в по́сті та в вере́тищах, а на них — по́рох.
А Ізраїлеве насіння відділи́лося від усіх чужи́нців, і поставали й визнавали гріхи свої та провини своїх батьків.
Those of Israelite descent separated themselves from all foreigners as they confessed their own sins and the sins of their ancestors.
І стали на місті своїм, і чверть дня читали з книги Зако́ну Господа, Бога свого, а чверть сповіда́лися і вклонялися Господе́ві, Богові своєму.
І стали на леви́тському підви́щенні Ісус, і Бані, Кадміїл, Шеванія, Бунні, Шеревея, Бані, Кенані, і кли́кали сильним голосом до Господа, Бога свого.
The Levites — Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Kenani — stood on the stairway of the Levites and cried out to the LORD their God with loud voices.
І сказали Левити: Ісус, і Кадміїл, Бані, Хашавнея, Шеревея, Годійя, Шеванія, Петахія: „Устаньте, поблагословіть Господа, Бога свого́, від віку аж до віку! І нехай благословляють Ім'я́ слави Твоєї, і нехай воно буде звели́чене над усяке благослове́ння та славу!
Then the leaders of the Levites — Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah — called out to the people: “Stand up and praise the LORD your God, for he lives from everlasting to everlasting!” Then they prayed:
“May your glorious name be praised! May it be exalted above all blessing and praise!
“May your glorious name be praised! May it be exalted above all blessing and praise!
Ти Господь єдиний! Ти вчинив небо, небеса небе́с, і все їхнє ві́йсько, землю та все, що на ній, моря та все, що в них, і Ти оживля́єш їх усіх, а небесне ві́йсько Тобі вклоня́ється!
“You alone are the LORD. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you.
Ти — то Господь, Бог, що вибрав Авра́ма, і вивів його́ з халдейського Уру, і дав йому ім'я́ Авраа́м.
“You are the LORD God, who chose Abram and brought him from Ur of the Chaldeans and renamed him Abraham.
І Ти знайшов серце його вірним перед лицем Своїм, і склав був із ним заповіта, щоб дати край хананеян, хіттеян, амореян, періззеян, євусеян, ґірґасеян, щоб дати насінню його. І Ти ви́конав слова́ Свої, бо Ти праведний!
When he had proved himself faithful, you made a covenant with him to give him and his descendants the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites, and Girgashites. And you have done what you promised, for you are always true to your word.
І побачив Ти біду наших батьків ув Єгипті, а їхній зойк Ти почув над Червоним морем.
І дав Ти знаки́ та чу́да на фараоні та на всіх його раба́х, і на всім наро́ді краю його, бо пізнав Ти, що вони гордо пово́дилися з ними, і зробив Ти Собі Ім'я́, як видно цього дня.
You displayed miraculous signs and wonders against Pharaoh, his officials, and all his people, for you knew how arrogantly they were treating our ancestors. You have a glorious reputation that has never been forgotten.
І море Ти розсі́к перед ними, і вони перейшли́ серед моря по суходо́лу, а тих, хто гнався за ними, Ти кинув до глиби́н, як камінь до бурхли́вої води.
You divided the sea for your people so they could walk through on dry land! And then you hurled their enemies into the depths of the sea. They sank like stones beneath the mighty waters.
І Ти прова́див їх стовпо́м хмари вдень, а стовпо́м огню́ вночі, щоб освітлювати їм ту дорогу, якою мали йти.
You led our ancestors by a pillar of cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night so that they could find their way.
І Ти зійшов був на го́ру Сіна́й, і говорив з ними з небе́с, і дав їм справедливі права́ та правдиві зако́ни, устави та заповіді добрі.
“You came down at Mount Sinai and spoke to them from heaven. You gave them regulations and instructions that were just, and decrees and commands that were good.
І святу Свою суботу Ти вказав їм, а заповіді, й устави та право наказав Ти їм через раба Свого Мойсея.
You instructed them concerning your holy Sabbath. And you commanded them, through Moses your servant, to obey all your commands, decrees, and instructions.
І хліб із небе́с дав Ти був їм на їхній голод, і воду зо скелі Ти вивів був їм на їхню спра́гу. І Ти сказав їм, щоб ішли посі́сти край, який Ти присягну́в дати їм.
“You gave them bread from heaven when they were hungry and water from the rock when they were thirsty. You commanded them to go and take possession of the land you had sworn to give them.
Та вони й наші батьки́ були вперті, і робили твердо́ю свою шию, і не слухали Твоїх за́повідей.
“But our ancestors were proud and stubborn, and they paid no attention to your commands.
І відмовля́лися вони слухати, і не пам'ятали чуд Твоїх, які Ти чинив був із ними, і стали твердоши́ї, і настанови́ли собі го́лову, щоб вернутися до своєї неволі в непо́слуху. Та Ти Бог, що прощаєш, Ти ласка́вий та милосе́рдний, довготерпели́вий та багатомилости́вий, — і Ти не покинув їх!
They refused to obey and did not remember the miracles you had done for them. Instead, they became stubborn and appointed a leader to take them back to their slavery in Egypt.d But you are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and rich in unfailing love. You did not abandon them,
Хоч вони зробили були́ собі ли́того тельця́ та сказали: Оце бог твій, що ви́вів тебе з Єгипту, і робили великі обра́зи,
even when they made an idol shaped like a calf and said, ‘This is your god who brought you out of Egypt!’ They committed terrible blasphemies.
та Ти в великім Своїм милосерді не залишив їх у пустині, — стовп хмари не відходив від них удень, щоб ве́сти їх дорогою, а стовп огню́ вночі, щоб освітлювати їм дорогу, якою мали йти.
“But in your great mercy you did not abandon them to die in the wilderness. The pillar of cloud still led them forward by day, and the pillar of fire showed them the way through the night.
І Духа Свого доброго Ти давав, щоб зробити їх мудрими, і ма́нни Своєї не стри́мував від їхніх уст, і во́ду Ти їм давав на їхнє пра́гнення.
You sent your good Spirit to instruct them, and you did not stop giving them manna from heaven or water for their thirst.
І сорок літ живив Ти їх у пустині. Не було недоста́тку ні в чо́му, — одежі їхні не де́рлися, а но́ги їхні не пу́хли.
For forty years you sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell!
І дав Ти їм царства та наро́ди, які призна́чив на по́діл, — і вони посіли край Сиго́на, і край царя хешбонського, і край Оґа, царя башанського.
А їхніх синів Ти помно́жив, як зо́рі небесні, і ввів їх до кра́ю, що про нього казав Ти їхнім батька́м, щоб ішли посісти.
You made their descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and brought them into the land you had promised to their ancestors.
І ввійшли сини, і посіли той край, і Ти впокори́в перед ними ме́шканців того кра́ю ханаане́ян, і дав у їхню руку їх та царів їхніх, та наро́ди того кра́ю, щоб чинити з ними за своєю волею.
“They went in and took possession of the land. You subdued whole nations before them. Even the Canaanites, who inhabited the land, were powerless! Your people could deal with these nations and their kings as they pleased.
І поздобува́ли вони міста́ укрі́плені, та землю ситу, і посі́ли доми, повні всякого добра́, повите́сувані в ске́лях водозбо́ри, виноградники, і оливки, і багато овоче́вих дере́в. І вони їли й наси́тилися, і постава́ли товсті́, і насоло́джувалися Твоїм великим добро́м.
Our ancestors captured fortified cities and fertile land. They took over houses full of good things, with cisterns already dug and vineyards and olive groves and fruit trees in abundance. So they ate until they were full and grew fat and enjoyed themselves in all your blessings.
І стали вони неслухня́ні, і побунтува́лися проти Тебе, і кинули Зако́на Твого геть за свою спи́ну, і позабивали пророків Твоїх, що сві́дчили між ними, щоб навернути їх до Те́бе. І чинили вони великі обра́зи.
“But despite all this, they were disobedient and rebelled against you. They turned their backs on your Law, they killed your prophets who warned them to return to you, and they committed terrible blasphemies.
І дав Ти їх у руку їхніх ворогів, а ті утиска́ли їх. А в ча́сі горя свого вони кли́кали до Тебе, а Ти з неба чув, і за Своїм великим милосе́рдям давав їм спаси́телів, і вони спасали їх з руки́ їхніх ворогів.
So you handed them over to their enemies, who made them suffer. But in their time of trouble they cried to you, and you heard them from heaven. In your great mercy, you sent them liberators who rescued them from their enemies.
Та коли був їм мир, вони зно́ву чинили зло перед лицем Твоїм, і Ти давав їх у ру́ку їхніх ворогів, і ті панува́ли над ними. І вони зно́ву кли́кали до Тебе, а Ти з неба їх вислухо́вував, і спаса́в їх за милосе́рдям Своїм довгий час.
“But as soon as they were at peace, your people again committed evil in your sight, and once more you let their enemies conquer them. Yet whenever your people turned and cried to you again for help, you listened once more from heaven. In your wonderful mercy, you rescued them many times!
І сві́дчив Ти проти них, щоб наверну́ти їх до Зако́ну Твого, та вони чинили лихе́, і не слу́халися за́повідей Твоїх, і грішили проти Твоїх прав, — які коли б люди́на чинила, то жила́ б ними, — і ставало раме́но їх неслухня́не, а шию свою робили твердо́ю, і не слухалися.
“You warned them to return to your Law, but they became proud and obstinate and disobeyed your commands. They did not follow your regulations, by which people will find life if only they obey. They stubbornly turned their backs on you and refused to listen.
І зволіка́в Ти їм довгі ро́ки, і сві́дчив проти них Своїм Духом через Своїх пророків, та вони не слу́хали того, і Ти дав їх у ру́ку народів цих країв.
In your love, you were patient with them for many years. You sent your Spirit, who warned them through the prophets. But still they wouldn’t listen! So once again you allowed the peoples of the land to conquer them.
І через велике Своє милосердя Ти не ви́губив і не покинув їх, бо Ти Бог ласка́вий та милосе́рдний!
But in your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are!
А тепер, Боже наш, Боже великий, сильний та страшни́й, що бережеш заповіта та милість, — нехай не буде мало́ю перед лицем Твоїм уся та му́ка, що спіткала нас, наших царів, наших зверхників, і священиків наших, і пророків наших, і батьків наших, і ввесь Твій наро́д від днів асирійських царів аж до цього дня!
“And now, our God, the great and mighty and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of unfailing love, do not let all the hardships we have suffered seem insignificant to you. Great trouble has come upon us and upon our kings and leaders and priests and prophets and ancestors — all of your people — from the days when the kings of Assyria first triumphed over us until now.
А ти справедливий у всьо́му, що прихо́дить на нас, бо Ти правду робив, а ми були несправедли́ві.
Every time you punished us you were being just. We have sinned greatly, and you gave us only what we deserved.
А наші царі, наші зверхники, наші священики та наші батьки́ не вико́нували Зако́на Твого, і не слухалися за́повідей Твоїх та свідо́цтв Твоїх, що Ти сві́дчив проти них.
Our kings, leaders, priests, and ancestors did not obey your Law or listen to the warnings in your commands and laws.
І вони в царстві своїм та в великім добрі Твоїм, яке Ти їм давав, і в то́му просто́рому та си́тому кра́ї, що Ти дав перед ними, не служили Тобі, і не відверну́лися від своїх злих чинів.
Even while they had their own kingdom, they did not serve you, though you showered your goodness on them. You gave them a large, fertile land, but they refused to turn from their wickedness.
Ось ми сьогодні раби, а цей Край, що Ти дав його́ нашим батькам, щоб їсти плід його та добро́ його, — ось ми раби в ньому!
“So now today we are slaves in the land of plenty that you gave our ancestors for their enjoyment! We are slaves here in this good land.
І він мно́жить свій урожа́й для царів, яких Ти дав над нами за наші гріхи, і вони панують над нашими тіла́ми та над нашою худобою за своїм уподо́банням, і ми в великому у́тискові!“
The lush produce of this land piles up in the hands of the kings whom you have set over us because of our sins. They have power over us and our livestock. We serve them at their pleasure, and we are in great misery.”
