Darby Bible Translation
„Почекай мені тро́хи, й тобі покажу́, бо ще́ є про Бога слова́.
Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet words for +God.
Зачну́ виклада́ти я зда́лека, і Творце́ві своєму віддам справедливість.
I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Creator.
Бо справді слова́ мої не неправдиві, — я з тобою безва́дний в знанні́.
For truly my words shall be no falsehood: one perfect in knowledge is with thee.
Таж Бог си́льний, і не відкидає ніко́го, Він міцни́й в силі серця.
Lo, God is mighty, but despiseth not [any]; mighty in strength of understanding:
Не лишає безбожного Він при житті, але право для бідних дає.
He saveth not the wicked alive; but he doeth justice to the afflicted.
Від праведного Він очей Своїх не відверта́є, але їх садо́вить з царями на троні наза́вжди, — і вони підвищаються.
He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne doth he even set them for ever; and they are exalted.
А як тільки вони ланцюга́ми пов'я́зані, і тримаються в пу́тах біди́,
And if, bound in fetters, they be held in cords of affliction,
то Він їм представляє їх вчинок та їхні провини, що багато їх стало.
Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions, because they have increased.
Відкриває Він ухо їх для осторо́ги, та вели́ть, щоб вернулися від беззако́ння.
And he openeth their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
Якщо тільки послу́хаються, та стануть служити Йому, покі́нчать вони свої дні у добрі, а ро́ки свої у приє́мнощах.
If they hearken and serve [him], they shall accomplish their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Коли ж не послухаються, то наскочать на ра́тище, і покі́нчать життя без знання́.
But if they hearken not, they shall pass away by the sword, and expire without knowledge.
А злосерді кладуть гнів на себе, не кричать, коли в'яже Він їх.
But the godless in heart heap up anger; they cry not when he bindeth them:
У мо́лодості помирає душа їх, а їхня живая — поміж блудника́ми.
Their soul dieth in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
Він визволяє убогого з горя його, а в переслі́дуванні відкриває їм ухо.
But he delivereth the afflicted in his affliction, and openeth their ear in [their] oppression.
Також і тебе Він би ви́бавив був із тісноти́ на широ́кість, що в ній нема у́тиску, а те, що на стіл твій поклалося б, повне то́вщу було б.
Even so would he have allured thee out of the jaws of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and the supply of thy table [would be] full of fatness.
Та правом безбожного ти перепо́внений, право ж та суд підпира́ють люди́ну.
But thou art full of the judgments of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold [on thee].
Отож лютість нехай не намо́вить тебе до плеска́ння в долоні, а о́куп великий нехай не заве́рне з дороги тебе.
Because there is wrath, [beware] lest it take thee away through chastisement: then a great ransom could not avail thee.
Чи в біді допоможе твій зойк та всі змі́цнення сили?
Will he esteem thy riches? Not gold, nor all the resources of strength!
Не квапся до ночі тієї, коли ви́рвані будуть народи із місця свого́.
Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off from their place.
Стережись, не звертайся до зла, яке за́мість біди ти обрав.
Take heed, turn not to iniquity; for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
Отож, Бог найвищий у силі Своїй, — хто навчає, як Він?
Lo, God is exalted in his power: who teacheth as he?
Хто дорогу Його Йому вказувати бу́де? І хто скаже: „Ти кривду зробив?“
Who hath appointed him his way? or who hath said, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?
Пам'ятай, щоб звели́чувати Його вчинок, про якого виспівують люди,
Remember that thou magnify his work, which men celebrate.
що його бачить всяка люди́на, чоловік приглядається зда́лека.
All men look at it; man beholdeth [it] afar off.
Отож, Бог великий та недовідо́мий, і недосліди́ме число Його літ!
Lo, God is great, and we comprehend [him] not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
Бо стягає Він краплі води, і доще́м вони падають з хмари Його,
For he draweth up the drops of water: they distil in rain from the vapour which he formeth,
що хмари спускають його, і спада́ють дощем на багато людей.
Which the skies pour down [and] drop upon man abundantly.
Також хто зрозуміє розтя́гнення хмари, грім намету Його?
But can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, [or] the crashing of his pavilion?
Отож, розтягає Він світло Своє над Собою і мо́рську глибі́нь закриває,
Lo, he spreadeth his light around him, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
бо ними Він судить наро́ди, багато поживи дає.
For with them he judgeth the peoples; he giveth food in abundance.
Він тримає в руках Своїх бли́скавку, і керує її проти цілі.
[His] hands he covereth with lightning, and commandeth it where it is to strike.
