Loving Discipline and Knowledge
Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

Добрий від Господа має вподо́бання, а люди́ну злих замірів осудить Господь.
A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
Не зміцни́ться люди́на безбожністю, корінь же праведних не захита́ється.
A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
Жінка чесно́тна — корона для чолові́ка свого́, а засоро́млююча — мов та гниль в його ко́стях.
A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
Думки пра́ведних — право, підступні заміри безбожних — омана.
The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
Безбожних слова — чатува́ння на кров, а уста невинних урятовують їх.
The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
Переверну́ти безбожних — і вже їх нема, а дім праведних буде стояти.
The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
Хвалять люди́ну за розум її, а кривосердий стає на пого́рду.
A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
Ліпше про́стий, але роботя́щий на себе, від того, хто поважним себе видає, та хліба позба́влений.
He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
Піклується праведний життям худоби своєї, а серце безбожних жорстоке.
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
Хто оброблює землю свою, той хлібом наси́чується, хто ж за марни́цею го́ниться, той позба́влений розуму.
He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
Безбожний жадає ловити у сі́тку лихи́х, а в праведних корень прино́сить плоди́.
The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
Пастка злого — в гріху́ його уст, а праведний з у́тиску ви́йде.
The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
Люди́на насичується добром з плоду уст, і зро́блене рук чоловіка до нього впаде́.
A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
Дорога безу́мця пряма́ в його о́чах, а мудрий послухає ради.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
Нерозумного гнів пізнається відра́зу, розумний же мо́вчки ховає знева́гу.
A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
Хто правду говорить, той вия́влює праведність, а сві́док брехливий — оману.
He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
Дехто говорить, мов коле мече́м, язик же премудрих — то ліки.
There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
Уста правдиві стоя́тимуть вічно, а брехливий язик — лиш на хвилю.
The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
В серці тих, хто зло о́ре, — омана, а радість у тих, хто дора́джує мир.
Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.
Жодна кривда не тра́питься праведному, а безбожні напо́вняться лихом.
There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
Уста брехливі — оги́да у Господа, а чи́нячі правду — Його уподо́ба.
Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
Прихо́вує мудра люди́на знання́, а серце безумних глупо́ту викликує.
A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
Роботя́ща рука панува́тиме, а лінива дани́ною стане.
The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
Ту́га на серці люди́ни чавить її, добре ж слово її весели́ть.
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
Праведний ви́відає свою путь, а дорога безбожних зведе́ їх сами́х.
The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
Не буде леда́чий пекти свого по́лову, а люди́на трудя́ща набуде має́ток цінни́й.
The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
