Better is a poor [man] that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

Теж не добра душа без знання́, а хто на́глить ногами, спіткне́ться.
Also that a person be without knowledge is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet maketh false steps.
Глупо́та люди́ни дорогу її викривля́є, і на Господа гні́вається її серце.
The folly of man distorteth his way, and his heart is irritated against Jehovah.
Маєток примно́жує дру́зів числе́нних, а від бідака́ відпадає й товариш його.
Wealth addeth many friends; but the poor is separated from his friend.
Свідок брехливий не буде без кари, а хто бре́хні говорить, не буде врято́ваний.
A false witness shall not be held innocent, and he that uttereth lies shall not escape.
Багато-хто го́дять тому, хто гостинці дає, і кожен товариш люди́ні, яка не скупи́ться на дари.
Many court the favour of a noble; and every one is friend to a man that giveth.
Бідаря́ ненави́дять всі браття його, а тимбільш його при́ятелі відпадають від нього; а коли за словами поради женеться, — нема їх!
All the brethren of a poor [man] hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him: he pursueth [them] with words, -- they are not [to be found].

The discretion of a man maketh him slow to anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
Гнів царя — немов рик левчука́, а ласка́вість його — як роса на траву.
The king's displeasure is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
Син безумний — погибіль для батька свого́, а жінка сварлива — як ри́нва, що з неї вода тече за́вжди.
A foolish son is the calamity of his father; and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
Хата й маєток — спа́дщина батьків, а жінка розумна — від Господа.
House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers; but a prudent wife is from Jehovah.
Лі́нощі сон накидають, і лінива душа — голодує.
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep, and the idle soul shall suffer hunger.
Хто заповідь охороня́є, той душу свою стереже́; хто дороги свої легкова́жить, — помре.
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his soul; he that is careless of his ways shall die.
Хто милости́вий до вбогого, той позичає для Господа, і чин його Він надолу́жить йому.
He that is gracious to the poor lendeth unto Jehovah; and what he hath bestowed will he repay unto him.
Карта́й свого сина, коли є наді́я навчити, та забити його — не підно́сь свою душу.
Chasten thy son, seeing there is hope; but set not thy soul upon killing him.
Люди́на великого гніву хай кару несе, бо якщо ти вряту́єш її, то вчи́ниш ще гірше.
A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment; for if thou deliver [him], yet thou must do it again.
Слухай ради й карта́ння приймай, щоб мудрим ти став при своєму кінці́.
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
У серці люди́ни багато думо́к, але ви́повниться тільки за́дум Господній.
Many are the thoughts in a man's heart, but the counsel of Jehovah, that doth stand.
Здобу́ток люди́ні — то милість її, але ліпший біда́р за люди́ну брехливу.
The charm of a man is his kindness; and a poor [man] is better than a liar.
Страх Господній веде́ до життя, і хто його має, той ситим ночує, і зло не дося́гне його.
The fear of Jehovah [tendeth] to life, and he [that hath it] shall rest satisfied without being visited with evil.
У миску стромляє лінюх свою руку, до уст же своїх не піді́йме її.
A sluggard burieth his hand in the dish, and will not even bring it to his mouth again.
Як битимеш нерозважного, то помудріє й немудрий, а будеш розумного остеріга́ти, то він зрозуміє поуку.
Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware; reprove the intelligent, and he will understand knowledge.
Хто батька грабує, хто матір жене? — Це син, що засти́джує та осоро́млює, —
He that ruineth [his] father and chaseth away [his] mother is a son that causeth shame and bringeth reproach.
перестань же, мій сину, навчатися від нерозумних, щоб відступитися від слів знання́!
Cease, my son, to hear the instruction which causeth to stray from the words of knowledge.
Свідок нікчемний висміює суд, а уста безбожних вибри́зкують кривду.
A witness of Belial scorneth judgment, and the mouth of the wicked swalloweth down iniquity.
