І стане вам соромом за́хист отой фараонів, а хова́ння у тіні Єгипту — за га́ньбу,

Пророцтво про Бегемота пі́вдня. В краю у́тиску та переслі́дування, звідки леви́ця та лев, гадюка й огни́стий летю́чий драко́н, носять багатство своє на хребті́ молодих ослюкі́в, і скарби свої на верблю́жім горбі́ до наро́ду, який не поможе.
А Єгипет, — його поміч марна́ та пуста́, тому́ то я кликнув на теє: Рагав, сидіти спокійно!

Тому́ промовляє Святий Ізраїлів так: За те, що ви не́хтуєте оцим словом, і надію кладе́те на тиск та круті́йство, і на це опира́єтеся,

“Because you despise this word,
And trust in oppression and perversity,
And rely on them,

тому буде для вас ця прови́на, як ви́лім, що має впасти, що зя́є на мурі високім, що нагло, рапто́вно приходить руїна його!
Therefore this iniquity shall be to you
Like a breach ready to fall,
A bulge in a high wall,
Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant.

I Він поруйнує його, як руйнується по́суд ганча́рський, розбиваючи без милосердя його, і в ула́мках його не знайдеться ані черепка́, щоб із о́гнища взяти огню́ чи води зачерпну́ти з кринички.

Від крику одно́го — поли́не одна тисяча, від крику п'ятьох — дремене́те ви всі, аж зоста́нетеся, немов що́гла ота на верше́чку гори, і немов пра́пор на взгі́р'ї!
І проте Господь буде чекати, щоб помилувати вас, і тому́ Він піді́йметься, щоб милосердя вчинити над вами. Бо Господи — то Бог правосу́ддя: блаженні всі ті, хто наді́ю на Нього кладе́!

Буде пісня для вас, як за но́чі освя́чення свята, і радість сердечна, мов у то́го, хто ходить з сопі́лкою, щоб вийти на го́ру Господню до Скелі Ізраїля.

Бо від голосу Господа буде лякатись Ашшу́р, що жезлом буде битий.
