як хво́рост горить від огню, як кипить та вода на огні, отак щоб Ім'я́ Твоє стало відо́ме Твоїм ворога́м, щоб перед обличчям Твоїм затремті́ли наро́ди!
As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
Коли Ти чинив страшні ре́чі, ми їх не чекали, — коли б Ти зійшов, то перед обличчям Твоїм розтопи́лися б го́ри!
When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
І відві́ку не чули, до ушей не дохо́дило, око не бачило Бога, крім Те́бе, Який би зробив так тому́, хто наді́ю на Нього кладе́!
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Ти стрічаєш того, хто радіє та праведність чинить, отих, що вони на дорогах Твоїх пам'ята́ють про Тебе. Та розгні́вався Ти, бо ми в то́му згрішили навіки та несправедливими стали!
Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.
І стали всі ми, як нечистий, а вся пра́ведність на́ша — немов поплямо́вана мі́сячним о́діж, і в'я́немо всі ми, мов листя, а наша провина, як вітер, несе нас.
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
І немає ніко́го, хто кликав би Йме́ння Твоє, хто збудився б триматися міцно за Те́бе, бо від нас заховав Ти обличчя Своє й через нашу вину Ти покинув нас ни́діти.
And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
Тепер же, о Господи, Ти — наш Отець, ми глина, а Ти наш ганча́р, і ми всі — чин Твоєї руки!
But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
Не гнівайся, Господи, сильно, і не пам'ята́й повсякча́сно прови́ни! Тож споглянь, — ми наро́д Твій усі!
Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.
Святі міста́ Твої стали пустинею, Сіон став пусте́лею, сте́пом став — Єрусали́м.
Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
Дім свя́тощі нашої й нашої слави, в якім батьки наші хвали́ли Тебе́, погорі́лищем став, а все наше лю́бе руїною стало.
Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
