Thus says the Lord:
“Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool;
what is the house that you would build for me,
and what is the place of my rest?

Таж усе це створи́ла рука Моя, і так все це ста́лось, говорить Госпо́дь! І при тому дивлюсь Я на вбо́гого та на розби́того духом, і на тремтя́чого над Моїм словом.

Іна́кше хто ріже вола — одноча́сно вбиває люди́ну, прино́сить у жертву ягня́ — перело́млює шию собаці, дару́нка прино́сить — вживає свинячої крови, складає з кадила частину прига́дувальну, — одноча́сно божка́ благосло́вить. Отак як доро́ги свої вони повибира́ли, і до гидо́т тих своїх уподо́бання чує душа їхня,

he who presents a grain offering, like one who offers pig’s blood;
he who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like one who blesses an idol.

and their soul delights in their abominations;

так ви́беру й Я їх на зве́дення, і предмета їхнього стра́ху на них наведу́, за те, що Я кликав — і ніхто ві́дповіді не давав, говорив Я — й не чули вони, та чинили лихе в Моїх о́чах, і ви́брали те, чого Я не жада́в!
I also will choose harsh treatment for them
and bring their fears upon them,

when I spoke, they did not listen;
but they did what was evil in my eyes
and chose that in which I did not delight.”

Послухайте сло́ва Господнього ті, що на слово Його тремтите́: Кажуть ваші брати, що нена́видять вас, що ва́с ради Йме́ння Мого виганяють: „Хай просла́влений буде Господь, і ми вашу радість побачимо!“ Та будуть вони посоро́млені!

and cast you out for my name’s sake
have said, ‘Let the Lord be glorified,
that we may see your joy’;

Голос го́мону з міста, голос із храму, — це голос Господа, що заплату дає для Своїх ворогів!

Хто таке́ коли чув, і хто бачив таке́? Чи зро́джена буде земля в один день, чи наро́джений буде народ за одним ра́зом? Бо як тільки зазнала Сіонська дочка́ породо́ві дрижа́ння, то синів своїх вже породила.

Чи Я допрова́джу до по́роду, — і не вчиню́, щоб вона породила? говорить Господь. Чи Я, що чиню́, щоб роди́ла, — і стримаю? каже твій Бог.
Shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to bring forth?”
says the Lord;
“shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb?”
says your God.

Радійте із Єрусалимом і ті́штеся всі ним, хто його покоха́в! Втішайтесь ним радістю всі, що з-за нього в жало́бі були́!

Щоб ви сса́ли й наси́тилися з перс поті́хи його, щоб ви ссали та розкошува́ли із перс його слави!
Бо Господь каже так: Ось керу́ю до нього Я мир, немов річку, і славу наро́дів, немов той потік заливни́й: і ви бу́дете ссати, і на руках вас носи́тимуть, і ба́витимуть на колі́нах!
For thus says the Lord:
“Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river,
and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;
and you shall nurse, you shall be carried upon her hip,
and bounced upon her knees.

Як кого́сь його не́нька втіша́є, так вас Я поті́шу, і ви вті́шені бу́дете Єрусалимом.
As one whom his mother comforts,
so I will comfort you;
you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

І побачите це, й серце ваше раді́тиме, й як трава молода, розцвіту́ть ваші ко́сті! І в раба́х Його пі́знана буде Господня рука, і буде Він гні́ватися на Своїх ворогів.

and the hand of the Lord shall be known to his servants,

Бо ось при́йде Господь у в огні, а Його колесни́ці — мов буря, щоб відплати́ти жаром гніву Свого́, а погро́зи Свої — полум'я́ним огнем!
Final Judgment and Glory of the Lord
“For behold, the Lord will come in fire,
and his chariots like the whirlwind,
to render his anger in fury,
and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Бо огнем та мечем Своїм буде суди́тись Госпо́дь з кожним тілом, і буде багато побитих від Го́спода.
For by fire will the Lord enter into judgment,
and by his sword, with all flesh;
and those slain by the Lord shall be many.

А ті, хто освя́чується й очища́є себе у пога́нських садка́х, один по одно́му, всере́дині, їдять м'ясо свиня́че й гидо́ти та мишу, — вони ра́зом загинуть, говорить Господь!
“Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, eating pig’s flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, declares the Lord.
І Я знаю їхні вчи́нки та їхні думки́, і прийду́, щоб зібрати всі наро́ди й язи́ки, — і при́йдуть вони й Мою славу побачать!
І зна́ка на них покладу́, і пошлю́ урято́ваних з них до наро́дів, у Тарші́ш, Пул, і Лул, в Мешех і Кос, у Тувал та Яван, в острови́ предале́кі, що зві́стки про Мене не чули й не бачили слави Моєї, — і звістя́ть мою славу вони між наро́дами!
and I will set a sign among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands far away, that have not heard my fame or seen my glory. And they shall declare my glory among the nations.
І вони приведу́ть усіх ваших братів із наро́дів усіх у дару́нок для Господа на ко́нях та на колесницях, і на фурах та мулах, та на верблю́дах, на го́ру святу Мою, до Єрусалиму, говорить Госпо́дь, як прино́сять сино́ве Ізраїлеві дару́нка в посу́дині чистій до дому Господнього.
And they shall bring all your brothers from all the nations as an offering to the Lord, on horses and in chariots and in litters and on mules and on dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the Israelites bring their grain offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord.
І візьму́ Я із них за священиків та за Левитів, говорить Господь.
And some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites, says the Lord.
Бо як небо нове́ та нова́ та земля, що вчиню́, стануть перед обличчям Моїм, говорить Господь, так стоятимуть ваші наща́дки та ваше ім'я́!
“For as the new heavens and the new earth
that I make
shall remain before me, says the Lord,
so shall your offspring and your name remain.

І станеться, кожного новомі́сяччя в ча́сі його, і щосуботи за ча́су її кожне тіло прихо́дитиме, щоб вклоня́тися перед обличчям Моїм, говорить Господь.
From new moon to new moon,
and from Sabbath to Sabbath,
all flesh shall come to worship before me,
declares the Lord.

І ви́йдуть вони та й побачать ті трупи людей, що відпа́ли від Мене, бо їхня черва́ не помре й не пога́сне огонь їхній, — і стануть вони за ги́доту для кожного тіла!
“And they shall go out and look on the dead bodies of the men who have rebelled against me. For their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”
