Камінням обте́саним обгородив Він доро́ги мої, повикри́влював стежки́ мої.

Він для мене ведме́дем чату́ючим став, немов лев той у схо́вищі!

My soul hath [them] constantly in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
Оце я нага́дую серцеві своєму, тому то я маю надію:
This I recall to heart, therefore have I hope.
Це милість Господня, що ми не поги́нули, бо не нокінчи́лось Його милосердя, —

It is of Jehovah's loving-kindness we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not;

Господь — це мій у́діл, — говорить душа моя, — тому́ я надію на Нього склада́ю!

he giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him; he is filled full with reproach.
Бо хоч Він і засму́тить кого, проте зми́лується за Своєю великою ми́лістю,—
but if he have caused grief, he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving-kindnesses:
бо не мучить Він з серця Свого́, і не засмучує лю́дських синів.
for he doth not willingly afflict or grieve the children of men.
Щоб топта́ти під своїми ногами всіх в'я́знів землі,

To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,

щоб перед обличчям Всевишнього право люди́ни зігнути,
to turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
щоб гноби́ти люди́ну у справі судо́вій його́, — оцьо́го не має на оці Госпо́дь!
to wrong a man in his cause, -- will not the Lord see it?
Хто то скаже — і станеться це, як Господь того не наказав?

Хіба не виходить усе з уст Всевишнього, — зле та добре?
Out of the mouth of the Most High doth not there proceed evil and good?
Чого ж нарікає люди́на жива? Нехай ска́ржиться кожен на гріх свій.
Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
Пошукаймо доріг своїх та досліді́мо, і верні́мось до Господа!

Спроневі́рились ми й неслухня́ними стали, тому́ не пробачив Ти нам,
We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
закрився Ти гнівом і гнав нас, убивав, не помилував,

Behold thou their sitting down and their rising up: I am their song.
