А за дев'ятого року, десятого місяця, десятого дня місяця було мені слово Господнє таке:
The Parable of the Cooking Pot
And in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
And in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
„Сину лю́дський, напиши собі ім'я́ цього дня, цього самого дня, бо вавилонський цар саме цього дня наступив на Єрусалим.
Son of man, write thee the name of the day, of this selfsame day: on this selfsame day the king of Babylon draws near to Jerusalem.
І розкажи́ при́тчу на дім ворохо́бности, та й скажеш їм: Так говорить Господь Бог: Пристав ти котла́, пристав та й налий води в нього.
And propose a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Set on the pot, set [it] on, and also pour water into it.
Повкладай його ку́сні до нього, усякий добрий кусо́к, стегно́ та лопа́тку, напо́вни кістка́ми добі́рними.
Gather the pieces thereof into it, every good piece, the thigh and the shoulder; fill [it] with the choice bones:
Візьми добірні́ше з отари, розклади під ним дро́ва, звари його ку́сні, і щоб у ньому зварилися кості його.
take the choice of the flock; and also [put] a pile of wood under it, for the bones; make it boil well, and let the bones of it seethe therein.
Тому так Господь Бог промовляє: Горе місту цьому душогу́бному, котло́ві, що іржа́ його в ньому, і що його іржа не схо́дить із нього! Кусок за куском повитягуй це з нього; на нього нехай не впаде́ жеребо́к!
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! Bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it:
Кров бо його серед нього, — він на голу скелю її помістив, не вилив на землю її, щоб порохом вкрити її.
for her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the bare rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust.
Щоб лютість підійняти, щоб помститися, Я дам його кров на голу скелю, щоб вона непокрита була́.
That it might cause fury to come up to execute vengeance, I have set her blood upon the bare rock, that it should not be covered.
Тому так Господь Бог промовляє: Горе місту цьому душогу́бному, — збільшу́ о́гнище й Я!
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.
Підклади́ дров, розпали́ цей огонь, довари́ м'ясо, і вилий росі́л, а кості хай спа́лені бу́дуть.
Heap on the wood, kindle the fire, boil thoroughly the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.
І постав його порожнім на вугі́лля його, щоб він розігрівся, і щоб мідь його розпали́лась, і щоб розтопи́лась у ньому нечистість його, щоб іржа його зникла.
Then set it empty upon its coals, that it may be hot, and the brass of it may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, [and] that its rust may be consumed.
Увесь труд нада́рмо пішов, і не зійшла з нього його велика іржа́, — в огонь його з його ірже́ю!
She hath exhausted [her] labours, yet her great rust goeth not forth out of her: let her rust be in the fire.
У твоїй нечистоті є розпуста. За те, що Я чистив тебе, але́ чистим не став ти, ти з своєї нечистости вже не відчи́стишся, аж по́ки Я не заспоко́ю Свою лютість на тобі.
In thy filthiness is lewdness, for I have purged thee, and thou art not pure. Thou shalt no more be purged from thy filthiness, till I have satisfied my fury upon thee.
Я, Господь, це казав, — і наді́йде воно! І зроблю́, не звільню́, і не змилуюся, — за твоїми доро́гами та за твоїми діла́ми засудять тебе, — це Господь Бог промовляє!“
I Jehovah have spoken [it]: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, nor will I repent. According to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.
І було мені слово Господнє таке:
Ezekiel's Wife Dies
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
„Сину лю́дський, ось Я візьму́ від тебе несподі́ваним уда́ром утіху очей твоїх, а ти не голоси й не плач, і нехай не виступить сльоза́ твоя.
Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke; yet thou shalt not mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.
Стогни́ собі тихо, жало́би по померлих не роби, прикра́су голови своєї обвий на себе, а взуття́ своє взуй на ноги свої, і не закривай ву́сів, і не їж жало́бного хліба“.
Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the dead; bind thy turban upon thee, and put thy sandals upon thy feet, and cover not the beard, and eat not the bread of men.
І говорив я до наро́ду рано, а ввечері поме́рла мені жінка... І зробив я рано, як наказано мені.
-- And I spoke unto the people in the morning; and at even my wife died. And I did in the morning as I was commanded.
І сказав мені той наро́д: Чи не розповіси́ нам, що́ це нам таке, що ти робиш?
And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, which thou doest?
І я їм сказав: Було мені слово Господнє таке:
And I said to them, The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
Скажи Ізраїлевому дому: Так говорить Господь Бог: Ось Я збезче́щу святиню Мою, опо́ру вашої сили, утіху ваших оче́й та любе вашій душі. А ваші сини та ваші до́чки, що ви покинули їх, попа́дають від меча.
Say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and your soul's longing; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.
І ви зробите, як зробив я: ву́сів не закриєте, і хліба жало́бного не будете їсти.
And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover the beard, neither eat the bread of men;
А прикра́си ваші будуть на ваших голова́х, і взуття́ ваше — на ваших нога́х, не будете голосити, і не будете плакати, а бу́дете со́хнути через свої гріхи, і будете стогна́ти один до о́дного.
and your turbans shall be upon your heads, and your sandals upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall waste away in your iniquities and moan one toward another.
І стане Єзекіїль вам за знака: усе, що робив він, бу́дете робити і ви. І коли те при́йде, то пізнаєте ви, що Я — Господь Бог.
Thus Ezekiel shall be unto you a sign; according to all that he hath done shall ye do: when it cometh, then ye shall know that I [am] the Lord Jehovah.
А ти, сину лю́дський, — того дня, коли візьму́ від них їхню силу, радість пишно́ти їхньої, утіху очей їхніх, пра́гнення їхньої душі, їхніх синів та дочо́к їхніх, —
And thou, son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereunto they lift up their soul, their sons and their daughters,
того дня при́йде до тебе врято́ваний, щоб сповісти́ти про це в твої ву́ха.
that in that day he that escapeth shall come unto thee, to cause [thine] ears to hear [it]?
Цього дня відкриються твої уста ра́зом з цим урятованим, і бу́деш говорити, і не бу́деш уже німи́й, і станеш для них зна́ком. І пізнають, що Я — Госпо́дь!“
In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him that is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb. So shalt thou be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
