The Hour of Doom
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
„А ти, сину лю́дський, послухай: Отак Господь Бог промовляє до кра́ю Ізраїлевого: Кіне́ць, надійшов той кінець на чотири окра́йки землі!
Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.
На те́бе тепер цей кінець, і пошлю́ Я на те́бе Свій гнів, і тебе́ розсуджу́ за твоїми доро́гами, і на тебе складу́ всі гидо́ти твої.
Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.
І око Моє над тобою не зми́лується, і милосе́рдя не бу́ду Я мати, бо доро́ги твої Я на тебе складу́, а гидо́ти твої серед тебе зоста́нуть, і пізнаєте ви, що Я — то Господь!“
And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Отак Господь Бог промовляє: „Ось прихо́дить біда на біду́!
Thus saith the Lord GOD; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come.
Прихо́дить кінець, прихо́дить кінець, — він збуди́вся на тебе, прихо́дить ось він!
An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.
Надійшла твоя доля для тебе, о ме́шканче кра́ю, приходить цей час, близьки́й той день за́колоту, нема на гора́х крику радости.
The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.
Тепер лютість Свою незаба́ром Я виллю на те́бе, і Свій гнів докінчу́ проти те́бе, і тебе́ осуджу́ за твоїми дорогами, і на те́бе складу́ всі гидо́ти твої!
Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.
І око Моє над тобою не зми́лується, і милосе́рдя не бу́ду Я мати, бо доро́ги твої Я на тебе складу́, а гидо́ти твої серед тебе зали́шаться, — і пізнаєте ви, що Я — Госпо́дь, що карає!
And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth.
Ось той день, ось прихо́дить, доля виходить, виро́стає кий, розцвітає пиха,
Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.
розвило́ся наси́льство для ки́я безбожності! Нічого із них не зали́шиться: ані з числе́нности їхньої, ані з їхнього завору́шення, ані з їхньої пишноти́.
Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of theirs: neither shall there be wailing for them.
Надходить той час, наближа́ється день. Хто купує, нехай не радіє, а хто продає, хай не буде в жало́бі, — бо сунеться лютість на все многолю́ддя його!
The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
Бо до про́даного не пове́рнеться вже продаве́ць, хоча б залиши́вся при житті між живими, бо пророцтво про все многолю́ддя їхнє не відмі́ниться, і ніхто беззаконням своїм не зміцни́ть свого життя.
For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they were yet alive: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.
Засу́рмлять у су́рму та все приготу́ють, — та не пі́де ніхто на війну́, бо на все многолю́ддя його Моя лютість!
The Desolation of Israel
They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.

На вулиці — меч, морови́ця ж та голод — у домі, хто на полі — помре від меча, а хто в місті — зжере́ того голод та мор.
The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.
І врято́вані з них повтікають, і бу́дуть на го́рах, немов голуби́ із долин, — всі бу́дуть стогна́ти, кожен за гріх свій.
But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.
Усі ру́ки осла́бнуть, затремтя́ть, як вода, всі колі́на,
All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water.
і вере́тами попідпері́зуються, і покри́є їх страх, і на кожнім лиці буде сором, а на всіх голова́х їхніх — жало́бна та ли́сина.
They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.
Вони повикида́ють на вулицю срі́бло своє, і за ніщо́ їхнє золото стане, — їхнє срі́бло та золото їхнє не буде могти́ врятувати їх удень гніву Господнього, ним не наси́тять своєї душі й свого ну́тра вони не напо́внять, бо їхня провина була перешкодою!
They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
А гордість вчинили за славну оздо́бу свою́, у ній наробили бовва́нів гидо́ти своєї й обри́джень своїх, тому їм оберну́ Я її на нечистість, —
As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.
і віддам її в руку чужих на грабу́нок, а нечестивим землі — на здобич.
And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.
І обличчя Своє відверну́ Я від них, і вони побезче́стять Мій скарб, і вві́йдуть до нього наси́льники та й побезче́стять його́.
My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it.
Зроби ланцюга́, бо земля перепо́внилась правом крива́вим, а місто наси́льством напо́внилось.
Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.
І наведу́ Я найзліших із наро́дів, — і пося́дуть вони доми їхні, і гордість вельмо́жних спиню́, — і свя́тощі їхні побезче́щені бу́дуть!
Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.
Загибіль іде, й вони будуть шукати споко́ю — та не буде його.
Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
При́йде біда до біди, й буде звістка до звістки, і бу́дуть шукати проро́цтва в пророка, та згине Зако́н у священиків і рада — у ста́рших.
Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour; then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the ancients.
Цар буде в жало́бі, і стра́хом зодя́гнеться князь, а ру́ки наро́ду землі затремтя́ть. За доро́гами їхніми їм учиню́, і судитиму їх — їхніми суда́ми, і пізна́ють, що Я — то Госпо́дь!“
The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
