Послухайте сло́ва Господнього, Ізраїлеві сини, бо Госпо́дь має прю із мешка́нцями зе́мними, бо нема на землі ані правди, ні милости, ані богопізна́ння.
God's Charges against Israel
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

Кляну́ть та неправду гово́рять, і вбивають та кра́дуть, і чинять пере́люб, поставали наси́льниками, а кров доторка́ється кро́ви.
By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
Тому то в жало́бу земля упаде́, і стане нещасним усякий мешка́нець на ній з польово́ю звіриною й з пта́ством небесним, і також морські риби погинуть.
Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
Та тільки ніхто хай не сва́риться, і хай не пляму́є ніхто! А наро́д Мій — як супере́чник з священиком.
Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
І спіткне́шся ти вдень, і спіткне́ться з тобою й пророк уночі, і знищу Я матір твою!
Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.
Погине наро́д Мій за те, що не має знання́: тому́, що знання́ ти відкинув, відкину й тебе, щоб не був ти для Мене священиком. А тому́, що забув ти Зако́н свого Бога, забу́ду синів твоїх й Я!
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Що більше розмно́жуються, то більше грішать проти Мене. Їхню славу зміню́ Я на га́ньбу!
As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.
Вони жертву за про́гріх народу Мого їдять, і до провини його свою душу схиля́ють.
They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.
І буде священикові, як і наро́дові, і доро́ги його навіщу́ Я на нім, і йому відплачу́ згідно вчинків його.
And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.
І вони будуть їсти, але не наси́тяться, чинитимуть блуд, та не розмно́жаться, бо покинули дбати про Господа.
For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.
Блуд і вино та сік виноградний володіють їхнім серцем.
Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
Наро́д Мій допитується в свого де́рева, і об'являє йому його па́лиця, бо дух блудоді́йства заводить до блу́ду, і вони заблуди́ли від Бога свого.
My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
На верхови́нах гірськи́х вони жертви прино́сять, і кадять на взгі́р'ях під дубом, і тополею та теребі́нтом, бо хороша їхня тінь, — тому́ ваші до́чки блудли́вими стали, а ваші неві́стки вчиняють пере́люб.
They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.
Та не покараю ще ваших дочо́к, що вони блудоді́ють, та ваших неві́сток, що чинять пере́люб, як відходять вони з блудоді́йками і жертви приносять з розпу́сницями. А наро́д без знання́ загибає!
I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.
Якщо ти блудли́вий, Ізраїлю, нехай Юда не буде прови́нний! І не ходіть до Ґілґалу, і не приходьте до Бет-Авену, і не присягайте: Як живий Госпо́дь!
Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear, The LORD liveth.
Бо Ізраїль зробився упе́ртий, немов та упе́рта корова. Та тепер Госпо́дь па́стиме їх, як вівцю́ на приві́ллі!
For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
Збір п'яни́ць звиродні́лих учинився розпу́сним, їхні провідники́ покохали нечи́стість.
Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.
