„Я вас полюбив, — говорить Госпо́дь, — а ви кажете: „Як Ти нас полюбив?“ Чи ж не брат Іса́в Якову? каже Госпо́дь, а Я Якова був полюбив,
I have loved you, saith Jehovah; but ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith Jehovah, and I loved Jacob,
а Іса́ва знена́видів, і зробив його гори спусто́шенням, а спа́док його — для шака́лів пустині.
and I hated Esau; and made his mountains a desolation, and [gave] his inheritance to the jackals of the wilderness.
Коли скаже Едо́м: „Ми зруйно́вані, та зно́ву збуду́ємо руїни“, то так промовляє Госпо́дь Савао́т: Вони побуду́ють, а Я розвалю́! І звати їх будуть: Країна безбо́жности, і наро́д, на якого навіки розгні́вавсь Господь!
If Edom say, We are broken down, but we will build again the ruined places, -- thus saith Jehovah of hosts: They shall build, but I will throw down; and [men] shall call them the territory of wickedness, and the people against whom Jehovah hath indignation for ever.
І ваші очі побачать оце, і ви скажете: Стане великий Госпо́дь понад границю Ізраїлеву!
And your eyes shall see [it], and ye shall say, Jehovah is magnified beyond the border of Israel.
Шанує син ба́тька, а раб — свого пана; та якщо Я вам ба́тько, де пошана Моя? А якщо Я вам пан, де страх передо Мною? говорить Господь Савао́т вам, священики, що пого́рджуєте Моїм Іме́нням та й кажете: „Чим ми погорди́ли Йме́нням Твоїм?“
The Polluted Offerings
A son honoureth [his] father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith Jehovah of hosts unto you, priests, that despise my name. But ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

На же́ртівник Мій ви прино́сите хліб занечи́щений і кажете: „Чим Тебе ми знева́жили?“ Тим, що кажете ви: „Трапе́за Господня — вона пого́рджена!“
Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of Jehovah is contemptible.
І коли ви прино́сите в жертву сліпе́, це не зле? І як кульга́ве та хворе прино́сите, чи ж це не зле? Принеси но поді́бне своє́му намі́сникові, чи тебе він вподо́бає, чи піді́йме обличчя твоє? промовляє Госпо́дь Савао́т.
And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? And if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? Present it now unto thy governor: will he be pleased with thee? or will he accept thy person? saith Jehovah of hosts.
А тепер ублага́йте ви Боже лице, і хай стане для нас милости́вим, з ваших рук це було́, то хіба кому з вас Він обличчя піді́йме? говорить Господь Саваот.
And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us. This hath been of your hand: will he accept any of your persons? saith Jehovah of hosts.
Нехай хто серед вас замкне двері святині, і не бу́де нада́рмо освічувати Мого же́ртівника! Я не маю вподо́би до вас, говорить Господь Савао́т, і з ваших рук не вподо́баю да́ру!
Who is there among you that would even shut the doors? and ye would not kindle [fire] on mine altar for nothing. I have no delight in you, saith Jehovah of hosts, neither will I accept an oblation at your hand.
Бо від сходу сонця й аж по за́хід його́ звеличи́ться Йме́ння Моє між наро́дами, і ка́диться в кожному місці для Ймення Мого дар чистий, бо звели́читься Ймення Моє між наро́дами, каже Госпо́дь Савао́т.
For from the rising of the sun even unto its setting my name shall be great among the nations; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure oblation: for my name shall be great among the nations, saith Jehovah of hosts.
Ви ж Його зневажа́єте, ка́жучи: „Трапе́за Господня — вона занечи́щена, й дохід її, обри́джена страва її“.
But ye profane it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted; and the fruit thereof, his food, is contemptible.
І до того говорите: „Ось стільки пра́ці!“ і ним нехтуєте, — говорить Госпо́дь Савао́т, — і прино́сите кра́дене, і кульга́ве та хворе, і таку жертву хлібну прино́сите. Чи буде воно Мені миле з рук ваших? говорить Госпо́дь.
And ye say, Behold, what a weariness! And ye have puffed at it, saith Jehovah of hosts, and ye bring [that which was] torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye bring the oblation: should I accept this of your hand? saith Jehovah.
І прокля́тий обма́нець, що в ста́ді його є саме́ць, а він обіцяє та в жертву дає Господе́ві зіпсуте, А Я Цар великий, — говорить Госпо́дь, — і серед наро́дів грізне́ Моє Ймення!
Yea, cursed be the deceiver, who hath in his flock a male, and voweth and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing; for I am a great King, saith Jehovah of hosts, and my name is terrible among the nations.
