Priests to Be Disciplined
“And now this commandment is for you, O priests.
“And now this commandment is for you, O priests.
Якщо ви не послу́хаєтесь, і не покладе́те на серце собі, щоб Іме́нню Моєму давати хвалу́, — говорить Госпо́дь Савао́т, — то пошлю Я прокля́ття на вас, і прокляну́ благословення ваші, і вже проклина́ю, бо ви не бере́те до серця цього́!
“If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name,” says the LORD of hosts, “then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.
Ось Я обітну́ вам раме́но, і розпоро́шу нечистість на ваших обли́ччях, нечистість свят ваших, і до неї вас ви́несуть.
“Behold, I am going to rebuke your offspring, and I will spread refuse on your faces, the refuse of your feasts; and you will be taken away with it.
І пізнаєте ви, що Я заповідь вам цю послав, щоб був заповіт Мій з Леві́єм, каже Госпо́дь Савао́т.
“Then you will know that I have sent this commandment to you, that My covenant may continue with Levi,” says the LORD of hosts.
Заповіт Мій з ним був для життя та для миру, і Я дав йому страх, і він налякався Мене, та боя́всь перед Іме́нням Моїм.
“My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him as an object of reverence; so he revered Me and stood in awe of My name.
Закон правди в уста́х його був, і не знайшла́сь на губа́х його кривда, — у мирі й просто́ті ходив він зо Мною, і багато-кого́ відверну́в від вини.
“True instruction was in his mouth and unrighteousness was not found on his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many back from iniquity.
Бо у́ста священикові знання́ стережу́ть та Зако́на шукають із уст його, бо він ангол Господа Саваота.
“For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
А ви відхили́лись з дороги, вчини́ли таке, що багато спіткну́лись в Зако́ні, Леві́євого заповіта пони́щили, говорить Госпо́дь Савао́т.
“But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble by the instruction; you have corrupted the covenant of Levi,” says the LORD of hosts.
Тому́ то і Я вас зробив пого́рджуваними й низьки́ми для всього наро́ду, бо не стереже́те доріг Моїх ви, та не безсторо́нні в Зако́ні.
“So I also have made you despised and abased before all the people, just as you are not keeping My ways but are showing partiality in the instruction.
Чи Оте́ць нам усім не оди́н? Хіба Бог не один нас створи́в? Чому́ ж один о́дного зраджуємо ми, щоб нам зневажа́ти запові́т батькі́в наших?
Sin in the Family
“Do we not all have one father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously each against his brother so as to profane the covenant of our fathers?
Зраджує Юда, і робиться не́чисть серед Ізраїля та в Єрусалимі, — бо Юда зневажив святиню Господню, яку покохав був, і дочку бога чужого за жінку узя́в.
“Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the LORD which He loves and has married the daughter of a foreign god.
Нехай Господь ви́губить кожного, хто́ таке робить, того, хто чува́є та відповідає з наме́тів Якова, і хто да́р прино́сить Господу Саваоту.
“As for the man who does this, may the LORD cut off from the tents of Jacob everyone who awakes and answers, or who presents an offering to the LORD of hosts.
І робите й друге таке: Господнього же́ртівника ви слізьми́ покриваєте, плаче́м та стогна́нням, бо до да́рів уже Він не зве́рнеться більше, і милої жертви з рук ваших не ві́зьме.
“This is another thing you do: you cover the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping and with groaning, because He no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favor from your hand.
А ви ще й говорите: „За́що?“ — За те, що засві́дчив Господь між тобою й жоною юна́цтва твого́, якій ти невірність вчинив, а вона ж твоя по́друга, і дружи́на умо́ви твоєї!
“Yet you say, ‘For what reason?’ Because the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.
Хіба Бог не один нас учинив? І за́лишок духу — Його́. А що цей один? Насіння від Бога шукав. Тому́ свого духа пильну́йте, і дружи́ну юна́цтва свойо́го не зраджуйте!
“But not one has done so who has a remnant of the Spirit. And what did that one do while he was seeking a godly offspring? Take heed then to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth.
Бо нена́виджу ро́звід, — говорить Госпо́дь, Бог Ізраїлів, — і того, хто вкриває наси́льством одежу свою, промовляє Госпо́дь Савао́т. Тому́ свого духа пильнуйте, — і не зраджу́йте!
“For I hate divorce,” says the LORD, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with wrong,” says the LORD of hosts. “So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”
Словами своїми ви мучите Господа, та й пита́єте ще: „Чим ми мучимо?“ — Гово́ренням вашим: „Кожен, хто чинить ли́хе, той добрий у Господніх оча́х, і Він у них уподо́бання має“, або: „Де Бог правосу́ддя?“
You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, “How have we wearied Him?” In that you say, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them,” or, “Where is the God of justice?”
