„Пімсти́ мідіяні́там за кривду Ізра́їлевих синів, по́тім бу́деш прилу́чений до своєї рідні́“.
Avenge the children of Israel upon the Midianites; afterwards shalt thou be gathered unto thy peoples.
І промовив Мойсей до наро́ду, гово́рячи: „Озбройте з-поміж себе людей для ві́йська, і будуть вони на мідіян, щоб дати Господню пі́мсту на мідіян.
And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm from amongst you men for military service, that they go against Midian to execute Jehovah's vengeance upon Midian.
По тисячі з пле́мені зо всіх Ізраїлевих племе́н пошле́те до війська“.
Of every tribe a thousand, of all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
І були призна́чені з Ізраїлевих тисяч — тисяча з племені — дванадцять тисяч узброєних для війська.
And there were levied out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand by tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
I послав їх Мойсей — тисячу з кожного племени — до їх війська, і Пінхаса, сина священика Елеазара, на війну, і святий по́суд, і су́рми для су́рмлення в його руці.
And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand by the tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, and the holy instruments, even the alarm-trumpets in his hand.
I ру́шили війною па Мідіяна, як наказав був Господь Мойсеєві, і позабива́ли кожного чоловічої статі.
And they warred against Midian, as Jehovah had commanded Moses, and slew all the males.
І крім тих забитих, позабивали мідія́нських царів: Евія, і Рекема, і Цура, і Хура, і Реву, — п 'ять мідіянських царів, і Валаама, Беорового сина, забили мечем.
And they slew the kings of Midian, besides the others slain, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian; and Balaam the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
І полони́ли Ізраїлеві сини мідіянських жінок і їхніх діте́й, і всю їхню худобу, і всі їхні стада́ та ввесь їх має́ток пограбува́ли.
And the children of Israel took the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took for a spoil all their cattle and all their flocks and all their goods;
А всі їхні міста по їхніх оса́дах та всі їхні оселі попали́ли огнем.
and all their cities in their settlements and all their encampments they burned with fire.
І позабирали вони все захо́плене й усю здо́бич, людей та худобу.
And they took all the booty, and all the prey, of man and of cattle;
І вони привели́ до Мойсея й до священика Елеаза́ра та до громади Ізраїлевих синів полоне́них і здо́бич, і захо́плене до табо́ру, до моавських степі́в, що над приєрихо́нським Йорда́ном.
and they brought to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the assembly of the children of Israel, the captives and the prey and the booty, to the camp in the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan of Jericho.
І вийшли Мойсей і священик Елеаза́р та всі начальники громади назустріч їм поза та́бір.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the princes of the assembly went forth to meet them outside the camp.
І розгнівався Мойсей на військо́вих провідникі́в, тисячників та сотників, що верталися з війська тієї війни.
And Moses was wroth with the officers of the army, with the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war;
І сказав до них Мойсей: „Чи ви позоставили живими всіх жіно́к?
and Moses said to them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
Тож вони були́ для Ізраїлевих синів — за радою Валаама — причиною на відсту́плення від Господа через Пеора! І була пора́зка в Господній громаді.
Lo, these, through the counsel of Balaam, caused the children of Israel to commit sin against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague on the assembly of Jehovah.
А тепер позабивайте кожного хлопця між ді́тьми, і кожну жінку, що познала чоловіка на мужеськім ло́жі, повбивайте.
And now slay every male among the little ones, and slay every woman that hath known man by lying with him,
А всіх молодих жінок, що не познали мужеського ло́жа, зоставте живими для себе.
but all the children among the women that have not known lying with a man, keep alive for yourselves.
А ви пробудьте поза табо́ром сім день. Кожен, хто забив кого́, і кожен, хто доторкався тру́па, очистьтеся дня третього й дня сьомого ви та ваші бра́нці.
And encamp outside the camp seven days; whoever hath killed a person, and whoever hath touched any slain; ye shall purify yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
І ви очистите кожну одежу, і кожну шкуряну́ річ, і все зроблене з кози́ної вовни, і кожну дерев'я́ну річ“.
And every garment, and every vessel of skin, and all work of goat's hair, and every utensil of wood shall ye purify.
І сказав священик Елеаза́р во́їнам, що ходили на війну: „Оце постанова зако́ну, що Господь наказав був Мойсеєві:
And Eleazar the priest said to the men of war that had gone to the battle, This is the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses.
Тільки золото й срібло, мідь, залізо, ци́ну та олово,
Only the gold, and the silver, the copper, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
кожну річ, що видержить в огні, перепрова́дите через огонь, — і стане чиста, тільки перше очища́льною водою очи́ститься; а все, що не виде́ржує огню, перепрова́дите через воду.
everything that passeth through the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean; only it shall be purified with the water of separation; and everything that cannot pass through the fire ye shall make go through the water.
І виперете одежу свою сьомого дня, і станете чисті, а потому вві́йдете до табо́ру“.
And ye shall wash your garments on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterwards ye may come into the camp.
І Господь промовляв до Мойсея, говорячи:
Division of the Spoils
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
„Перелічи здо́бич бра́нців між людьми́ й між худобою ти й священик Елеаза́р та голови ба́тьківських домів громади.
Take the sum of the prey that was taken, of man and of cattle, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the assembly;
І поділиш ту здо́бич пополовині між учасниками війни, що входять до війська, і між усією громадою.
and divide the prey into halves, between them that conducted the war, who went out to the battle, and the whole assembly.
І принесеш дани́ну для Господа від військо́вих, що входять до війська, одну душу від п'яти сотень від люди́ни й від великої худоби, і від ослів, і від худоби дрібно́ї.
And thou shalt levy a tribute for Jehovah of the men of war who went out to the army, one soul of five hundred of the persons, and of the oxen, and of the asses, and of the small cattle.
З їхньої половини візьми, і даси священикові Елеазарові як Господнє прино́шення.
Of their half shall ye take it, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for a heave-offering of Jehovah.
А з половини Ізраїлевих синів ві́зьмеш одного вийнятого з п'ятидесяти — з люди́ни, з худоби великої, з ослів та з худоби дрібно́ї, з кожної скотини, та й даси їх Левитам, що виконують сторожу Господньої скинії“.
And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the oxen, of the asses, and of the small cattle, of every [kind of] beasts, and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, who keep the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.
І зробив Мойсе́й та священик Елеаза́р, як Господь наказав був Мойсе́єві.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
І була здо́бич, позостале грабунку, що захопи́ли були́ військо́ві: дрібної худоби — шістсо́т тисяч і сімдеся́т тисяч і п'ять тисяч.
And the prey, the rest of the spoil, which the men of war had taken, was six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep,
А душ лю́дських із жінок, що не пізнали мужеського ло́жа, усіх душ — тридцять і дві тисячі.
and of human persons, of the women that had not known lying with a man, all the persons were thirty-two thousand.
І була половина, ча́стка тих, що вхо́дили до війська, число худоби дрібно́ї — триста тисяч і тридцять тисяч і сім тисяч і п'ять сотень.
And the half, the portion of them that had gone out to the war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
І була дани́на для Господа з худоби дрібної, — шість сотень сімдесят і п'ять.
and the tribute for Jehovah of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five;
А худоба велика: тридцять і шість тисяч, а їхня дани́на для Господа — сімдесят і двоє.
and the oxen were thirty-six thousand, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, seventy-two;
А осли: тридцять тисяч і п'ять сотень, а їхня дани́на для Господа — шістдеся́т і один.
and the asses were thirty thousand five hundred, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, sixty-one;
А душ лю́дських: шістнадцять тисяч, а їхня данина для Господа — тридцять і дві душі.
and the human persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the tribute for Jehovah was thirty-two persons.
І дав Мойсей дани́ну Господнього прино́шення священикові Елеазарові, як Господь наказав був Мойсеєві.
And Moses gave the tribute of Jehovah's heave-offering to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
І з половини Ізраїлевих синів, що Мойсей відділив, від людей, що вирушали на війну, —
And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses had divided, [taking it] from the men that served in the war,
і була грома́дська половина з дрібної худоби — триста тисяч і тридцять тисяч і сім тисяч і п'ять сотень.
(now the half belonging to the assembly was of the sheep, three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred,
і взяв Мойсей з половини Ізраїлевих синів вийнятого одно́го з п'ятидесяти з люди́ни та зо скотини, та й дав їх Левитам, що виконують сторо́жу Господньої скинії, як Господь наказав був Мойсеєві.
... of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, of man and of cattle, and gave them to the Levites who kept the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
, І прийшли до Мойсея старши́ни над тисячами війська, тисячники та сотники,
The Voluntary Offering
And the officers who were over the thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses,
And the officers who were over the thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses,
та й сказали Мойсеєві: „Твої раби перелічили військо́вих, що під нашою рукою, і нікого з нас не бракува́ло.
and they said to Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who were under our hand, and there is not one man of us lacking.
І ми прине́сли Господню жертву, кожен, хто знайшов що з золота, ланцюжо́к на ноги, і нараме́нник, пе́рстень, сере́жки та наши́йника на очищення наших душ перед Господнім лицем“.
So we present the offering of Jehovah, that which each one hath found, jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before Jehovah.
І взяв Мойсей та священик Елеазар від них те золото, кожну зро́блену річ.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, all manner of wrought jewels.
І було́ всього золота прино́шення, що прине́сли для Господа, — шістнадцять тисяч сімсот і п'ятдесят шеклів від тисячників і від сотників.
And all the gold of the heave-offering that they offered to Jehovah was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds.
І взяв Мойсей та священик Елеазар те золото від тисячників та сотників, і вне́сли його до скинії заповіту, — па́м'ятка для Ізраїлевих синів перед Господнім лицем.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tent of meeting, as a memorial for the children of Israel before Jehovah.
