The Genealogy of Jesus

The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Авраа́м породив Ісака, а Ісак породив Якова, а Яків породив Юду й братів його.

Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

3

Юда ж породив Фаре́са та За́ру від Тама́ри. Фаре́с же породив Есро́ма, а Есро́м породив Арама.

And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

4

А Ара́м породив Амінадава, Амінада́в же породив Наассона, а Наассо́н породив Салмона.

And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

5

Салмо́н же породив Воо́за від Раха́ви, а Воо́з породив Йовіда від Рути, Йовід же породив Єссея.

And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

А Єссе́й породив царя Давида, Давид же породив Соломона від Урі́євої.

And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

7

Соломо́н же породив Ровоама, а Ровоа́м породив Авію, а Аві́я породив Асафа.

And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

8

Аса́ф же породив Йосафата, а Йосафа́т породив Йорама, Йора́м же породив Озію.

And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

9

Озі́я ж породив Йоатама, а Йоата́м породив Ахаза, Аха́з же породив Єзекію.

And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

10

А Єзекі́я породив Манасію, Манасі́я ж породив Амоса, а Амо́с породив Йосію.

And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

11

Йосі́я ж породив Йояки́ма, Йояки́м породи́в Єхонію й братів його за вавилонського пересе́лення.

And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

А по вавилонськім пересе́ленні Єхо́нія породив Салатіїля, а Салатіїль породив Зорова́веля.

And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

13

Зорова́вель же породив Авіюда, а Авію́д породив Еліякима, а Еліяки́м породив Азора.

And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

14

Азо́р же породив Садока, а Садо́к породив Ахіма, а Ахі́м породив Еліюда.

And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

15

Елію́д же породив Елеазара, а Елеаза́р породив Маттана, а Матта́н породив Якова.

And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

16

А Яків породив Йо́сипа, мужа Марі́ї, що з неї родився Ісу́с, зва́ний Христо́с.

16

And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

17

А всіх поколінь від Авраама аж до Давида — чотирна́дцять поколінь, і від Давида аж до вавилонського пересе́лення — чотирна́дцять поколінь, і від вавилонського пересе́лення до Христа — поколінь чотирна́дцять.

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

18

Наро́дження ж Ісуса Христа сталося так. Коли Його матір Марію заручено з Йо́сипом, то перш, ніж зійшлися вони, ви́явилося, що вона має в утро́бі від Духа Святого.

The Birth of Jesus

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19

А Йо́сип, муж її, бувши праведний, і не бажавши осла́вити її, хотів тайкома́ відпустити її.

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20

Коли ж він те поду́мав, ось з'явивсь йому а́нгол Господній у сні, промовляючи: „Йо́сипе, сину Давидів, не бійся прийняти Марію, дружи́ну свою, бо зача́те в ній — то від Духа Святого.

20

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21

І вона вродить Сина, ти ж даси Йому йме́ння Ісус, бо спасе Він людей Своїх від їхніх гріхів.

21

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22

А все оце сталось, щоб збуло́ся ска́зане пророком від Господа, який провіщає:

22

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23

„Ось діва в утробі зачне́, і Сина породить, і назвуть Йому Йме́ння Еммануїл“, що в перекладі є: З нами Бог“.

23

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24

Як прокинувся ж Йо́сип зо сну, то зробив, як звелів йому ангол Господній, — і прийняв він дружи́ну свою.

24

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25

І не знав він її, аж Сина свого первородженого вона породила, а він дав Йому йме́ння Ісу́с.

25

And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
