А певного ча́су послав він раба до своїх винарі́в, щоб прийняти частину плоду з виноградинка в тих винарі́в.
And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
Та вони схопи́ли його та й побили, і відіслали ні з чим.
And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
І зно́ву послав він до них раба іншого, — та й того вони зранили в голову та знева́жили.
And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
Тоді вислав він іншого, — і того вони вбили. І багатьо́х іще інших, — набили одни́х, а одни́х повбивали.
And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
І він мав ще одно́го, — сина улю́бленого. Наоста́нок послав і того́ він до них і сказав: „Посоромляться сина мого́!“
Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
А ті винарі міркували собі: „Це спадкоємець; ходім, заморду́ймо його, — і нашою спа́дщина бу́де!“
But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
І вони схопи́ли його та й убили, і викинули його за виноградник.
And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
Отож, що́ пан виноградинка зробить? — Він прибуде та й вигубить тих винарів, і віддасть виноградинка іншим.
What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
Чи ви не читали в Писа́нні: „Камінь, що його будівни́чі відкинули, — той нарі́жним став ка́менем!
And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
Від Господа сталося це, — і дивне воно в оча́х наших“.
This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
І шукали Його, щоб схопи́ти, але побоялись наро́ду. Бо вони зрозуміли, що про них Він цю при́тчу сказав. І, лишивши Його, відійшли.
And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
I вони вислали деяких із фарисеїв та іродія́нів до Нього, щоб зловити на слові Його.
Paying Taxes to Caesar
And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.

Ті ж прийшли та й говорять Йому: „Учителю, знаємо ми, що Ти справедливий, і не зважаєш зовсі́м ні на ко́го, бо на лю́дське обличчя не дивишся, а наставляєш на Божу дорогу правдиво. Чи годи́ться давати податок для кесаря, чи ні? Давати нам, чи не давати?“
And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
А Ісус, знавши їх лицемірство, сказав їм: „Чого ви Мене випробо́вуєте? Принесіть Мені гріш податковий, щоб бачити“.
Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
І прине́сли вони. А Він каже до них: „Чий це образ і напис?“ Ті ж Йому відказали: „Кесарів“.
And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.
Ісус тоді каже в відповідь їм: „Віддайте кесареве — кесареві, а Богові — Боже!“ І дивувалися з Нього вони.
And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
І прийшли до Нього ті саддукеї, що твердять, ніби нема воскресіння, і запитали Його та сказали:
Sadducees Question the Resurrection
Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,

„Учителю, Мойсей написав нам: „Як помре кому брат, і полишить дружи́ну, а дитини не лишить, то нехай його брат візьме дружи́ну його́, та й відновить насіння для брата свого́“.
Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
Було сім братів. І перший взяв дружи́ну й умер, не лишивши дітей.
Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
Другий теж її взяв та й помер, — і він не лиши́в дітей. Так само і третій.
And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
І всі семеро не полишили дітей. А по всіх вмерла й жінка.
And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.
А в воскресінні, як воскреснуть вони, то котро́му із них вона дружи́ною буде? Бо семеро мали за дружи́ну її“.
In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
Ісус їм відказав: „Чи ви не тому помиляєтесь, що не знаєте ані Писа́ння, ані Божої сили?
And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
Бо як із мертвих воскреснуть, то не бу́дуть женитись, ані заміж вихо́дити, але будуть, немов анголи́ ті на небі.
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
Щождо мертвих, що воскреснуть, чи ж ви не читали в Мойсеєвій книзі, як — при кущі́ — сказав йому Бог, промовляючи: „Я Бог Авраамів, і Бог Ісаків, і Бог Яковів“,
And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Бо Він є Бог не мертвих, а живих! Тим то ви помиляєтесь ду́же“.
He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
А один із тих книжників, що чув, як вони сперечались, та бачив, як добре Він відповідав їм, приступив та й спитався Його: „Котра́ заповідь перша з усіх?“
The Greatest Commandment
And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

Ісус відповів: Перша: „Слухай, Ізраїлю: наш Господь Бог — Бог єдиний“.
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
І: „Люби Господа, Бога свого, усім серцем своїм, і всією душею своєю, і всім своїм розумом, і з ці́лої сили своєї!“ (Це за́повідь перша!)
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
А друга (одна́кова з нею): „Люби свого ближнього, як само́го себе!“ Нема іншої більшої заповіді над оці!“
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
І сказав Йому книжник: „Добре, Учителю! Ти поправді сказав, що „Один Він, і нема іншого, окрім Нього“,
And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
і що „Любити Його всім серцем, і всім розумом, (і всією душе́ю), і з ці́лої сили“, і що „Любити свого ближнього, як само́го себе“, — це важливіше за всі цілопа́лення й жертви!“
And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
Ісус же, побачивши, що розумно той відповідь дав, промовив до нього: „Ти недалеко від Божого Царства!“ І ніхто не насмілювався вже питати Його.
And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
Пото́му Ісус відповів і промовив, у храмі навчаючи: „Як то книжники кажуть, що ніби Христос — син Давидів?
Whose Son is the Christ?
And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?

Адже той Давид Святим Духом сказав: „Промовив Господь Господе́ві моєму: сядь право́руч Мене, доки не покладу́ Я Твоїх ворогів підніжком ногам Твоїм!“
For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Сам Давид Його Господом зве, — як же Він йому син?“

і перші лавки́ в синагогах, і перші місця на прийняття́х,
And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
що вдови́ні хати поїдають, і моляться довго напо́каз, — вони тяжче осу́дження при́ймуть!“
Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.
І сів Він навпроти скарбни́ці, і дививсь, як наро́д мідяки́ до скарбниці вкидає. І багато заможних укида́ли багато.
The Poor Widow's Offering
And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
І покликав Він учнів Своїх та й промовив до них: „Поправді кажу вам, що ця вбога вдовиця поклала найбільше за всіх, хто клав у скарбницю.
And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
