Отож, коли ви воскре́сли з Христом, то шукайте того, що вгорі, де сидить Христос по Божій прави́ці.
Put on the New Self
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Ду́майте про те, що вгорі, а не про те, що на землі.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Бож ви вмерли, а життя ваше сховане в Бозі з Христом.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Коли з'я́виться Христос, наше життя, тоді з'явитеся з Ним у славі і ви.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Отож, умертвіть ваші земні члени: розпусту, не́чисть, при́страсть, лиху пожадли́вість та заже́рливість, що вона ідолослу́ження,
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
бо гнів Божий приходить за них на неслухня́них.
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
І ви поміж ними ходили колись, як жили поміж ними.
In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
Тепер же відкиньте і ви все оте: гнів, лютість, злобу́, богозневагу, безсоромні слова́ з ваших уст.
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Не кажіть неправди один на о́дного, якщо скинули з себе люди́ну старода́вню з її вчинками,
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
та зодягнулися в нову́, що відновлюється для пізна́ння за образом Створителя її,
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
де нема ані ге́ллена, ані юдея, обрі́зання та необрі́зання, ва́рвара, ски́та, раба, вільного, — але все та в усьому Христос!
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
Отож, зодягніться, як Божі вибра́нці, святі та улю́блені, у щире милосердя, добротли́вість, покору, ла́гідність, довготерпіння.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Терпіть один о́дного, і прощайте собі, коли б мав хто на ко́го оска́рження. Як і Христос вам простив, робіть так і ви!
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
А над усім тим — зодягніться в любов, що вона — союз доскона́лости!
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
І нехай мир Божий панує у ваших серцях, до якого й були ви покликані в одно́му тілі. І вдячними будьте!
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Слово Христове нехай пробуває в вас рясно, у всякій премудрості. Навчайте та напоумля́йте самих себе! Вдячно співайте у ваших серцях Господе́ві псалми́, гі́мни, духовні пісні́!
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
І все, що тільки робите словом чи ділом, — усе робіть у Ім'я́ Господа Ісуса, дякуючи через Нього Богові й Отцеві.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Дружи́ни, — слухайтеся чоловіків своїх, як лицює то в Господі!
Christian Households
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Чоловіки, — любіть дружи́н своїх, і не будьте суво́рі до них!
Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Діти, — будьте слухня́ні в усьому батька́м, бо це Господе́ві приємне!
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
Батьки́, — не драту́йте дітей своїх, щоб на дусі не впали вони!
Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
Раби, — слухайтеся в усьому тілесних панів, і не працюйте тільки про лю́дське око, немов підле́щуючись, але в простоті серця, боячи́ся Бога!
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
І все, що тільки чините, робіть від душі, немов Господе́ві, а не лю́дям!
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Знайте, що від Господа при́ймете в нагороду спа́дщину, бо служите ви Господе́ві Христові.
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
