І сказав йому Давид: Яке це слово, сповісти мені? Той відповів: Народ утік з бою, полягло багато народу і загинуло. Загинув також і Саул, і його син Йонатан загинув.

Давид спитав його: “Що там сталось? Повідай мені.” А той мовив: “Військо втекло з бою, й багато з війська полягло; та й Саула з сином Йонатаном нема в живих.”

І питає Давид: Що там сталось? А той каже: Військо повтїкало з бою, і багацько військових полягло й померло; та й Саул і син його Йонатан померли. -
І сказав до нього Давид: „Що́ це сталося, — розкажи́ но мені!“ А той відказав: Наро́д утік із бо́ю, а також багато з народу попа́дало й повмирало, і теж Саул та син його Йоната́н померли“.

И сказал ему Давид: что произошло? расскажи мне. И тот сказал: народ побежал со сражения, и множество из народа пало и умерло, и умерли и Саул и сын его Ионафан.

And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.

“The men fled from the battle,” he replied. “Many of them fell and died. And Saul and his son Jonathan are dead.” -
