{A Prayer of David.} Hear the right, O Jehovah, attend unto my cry; give ear unto my prayer, which is not out of feigned lips.

Він сказав: Любитиму Тебе, Господи, моя сило.
Let my judgment come forth from thy presence, let thine eyes regard equity.
Господь — моя надійна опора, мій притулок, мій Спаситель, мій Бог, моя допомога, — я надіятимусь на Нього! Він — мій захисник, ріг [1] мого спасіння, мій заступник.
Thou hast proved my heart, thou hast visited me by night; thou hast tried me, thou hast found nothing: my thought goeth not beyond my word.
Із похвалою закличу я до Господа і буду врятований від моїх ворогів.
Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept from the paths of the violent [man].
Охопили мене смертельні болі, бурхливі потоки беззаконня сильно збентежили мене.
When thou holdest my goings in thy paths, my footsteps slip not.
Мене облягли звідусіль, оточили болі аду, попереду в мене — тенета смерті.
I have called upon thee, for thou answerest me, O God. Incline thine ear unto me, hear my speech.
Та коли вони налягли на мене, я закликав до Господа, заволав до мого Бога. І Він зі Свого святого храму почув мій голос, — мій крик долинув до Нього, до Його вух.
Shew wondrously thy loving-kindnesses, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that trust [in thee] from those that rise up [against them].
І захиталася земля, стала тремтіти, а основи гір здригнулися й затряслися, тому що Бог прогнівився на них.
Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
Піднявся дим у Його гніві, вогонь спалахнув від Його обличчя, вугілля зайнялося від Нього.
From the wicked that destroy me, my deadly enemies, who compass me about.
Він нахилив небо і зійшов, а під Його ногами — темрява.
They are enclosed in their own fat; with their mouth they speak proudly.
І Він зійшов на херувимів і злетів, — понісся на крилах вітрів.
They have now encompassed us in our steps; their eyes have they set, bowing down to the earth.
А темряву Він зробив Своєю заслоною, навкруги Нього — намет Його — води чорних повітряних хмар.
He is like a lion that is greedy of its prey, and as a young lion lurking in secret places.
Від яскравого сяйва перед Ним розбіглися хмари, град і палаючий жар.
Arise, Jehovah, anticipate him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, thy sword;
І загримів Господь з неба, — Всевишній подав Свій голос.
From men [who are] thy hand, O Jehovah, from men of this age: their portion is in [this] life, and their belly thou fillest with thy hid [treasure]; they have their fill of sons, and leave the rest of their [substance] to their children.
