І звернувся Господь до Мойсея, промовляючи:
Pharaoh Pursues the Israelites
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
Скажи Ізраїльським синам, нехай повернуться і отаборяться напроти поселення між Маґдолом і між морем, напроти Веелсепфона, — перед ними станеш табором біля моря.
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea: before Baal-Zephon, opposite to it, shall ye encamp by the sea.
Тож фараон скаже своєму народові: Сини Ізраїля — вони блукають по землі, бо їх затиснула пустеля.
And Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness has hemmed them in.
Я ж зроблю непоступливим серце фараона, і він кинеться навздогін за ними. Тож Я прославлюся через фараона та через усе його військо; і всі єгиптяни пізнають, що Я — Господь! І вони зробили так.
And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he may pursue after them; and I will glorify myself in Pharaoh, and in all his host; and the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah. And they did so.
Єгипетському цареві сповістили, що народ утік. І серце фараона і його слуг повернулося проти народу, і вони сказали: Що ж це ми зробили? Навіщо відпустили Ізраїльських синів, щоб на нас більше не працювали?
And it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled; and the heart of Pharaoh and of his bondmen was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from our service?
Отже, фараон запряг свої бойові колісниці й узяв із собою весь свій народ,
And he yoked his chariot, and took his people with him.
і взяв шістсот добірних бойових колісниць, усю єгипетську кінноту і начальників варти над усіма.
And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
Господь же зробив непоступливим серце фараона, єгипетського царя, і той погнався слідом за Ізраїльськими синами. Але сини Ізраїля виходили під могутньою рукою!
And Jehovah hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel; and the children of Israel had gone out with a high hand.
І єгиптяни погналися вслід за ними, і знайшли їх, коли вони отаборилися біля моря; і вся кіннота, і бойові колісниці фараона, і його військо, і вершники — перед поселенням, напроти Веелсепфона.
And the Egyptians pursued after them, -- all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them where they had encamped by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, opposite to Baal-Zephon.
Тож фараон наближався. І, поглянувши, сини Ізраїля побачили очима: єгиптяни вишикувалися позаду них, і вони дуже налякалися. І заголосили Ізраїльські сини до Господа.
And Pharaoh approached; and the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and the children of Israel were much afraid, and cried out to Jehovah.
Вони сказали Мойсеєві: Хіба ти вивів нас, щоб погубити в пустелі, чи не було гробниць у Єгипетській землі? Що це ти з нами зробив, вивівши з Єгипту?
And they said to Moses, Is it because there were no graves in Egypt, thou hast taken us away to die in the wilderness? why hast thou done this to us, that thou hast led us out of Egypt?
Хіба не ці самі слова ми говорили тобі в Єгипті, кажучи: Залиши нас, щоб ми служили єгиптянам? Адже краще нам працювати на єгиптян, аніж помирати в цій пустелі.
Is not this what we told thee in Egypt, when we said, Let us alone, and we will serve the Egyptians? For [it had been] better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.
Та Мойсей сказав народові: Будьте мужніми! Стійте і дивіться на спасіння від Бога, яке Він звершить для нас сьогодні. Бо такими, як побачили ви єгиптян сьогодні, більше не побачите їх повік!
And Moses said to the people, Fear not: stand still, and see the salvation of Jehovah, which he will work for you to-day; for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to-day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
Господь сказав Мойсеєві: Чому волаєш до Мене? Скажи Ізраїльським синам, нехай рушають.
Parting the Red Sea
And Jehovah said to Moses, Why dost thou cry unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.
And Jehovah said to Moses, Why dost thou cry unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.
А ти візьми свій посох, простягни свою руку над морем і розділи його! І сини Ізраїля нехай пройдуть посередині моря сушею.
And thou, lift thy staff, and stretch out thy hand over the sea, and divide it; and the children of Israel shall go on dry [ground] through the midst of the sea.
І ось, Я зроблю серце фараона та всіх єгиптян непоступливим, і вони підуть слідом за ними. І прославлюся через фараона, через усе його військо, через колісниці та через його коней.
And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall pursue after them; and I will glorify myself in Pharaoh and in all his host, in his chariots and in his horsemen.
І пізнають усі єгиптяни, що Я — Господь, як прославлю Себе через фараона, через колісниці та через його коней.
And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have glorified myself in Pharaoh, in his chariots and in his horsemen.
І Божий ангел, який ішов перед табором Ізраїльських синів, піднявся і перейшов у їхній тил. Піднявся і стовп хмари з-перед їхнього обличчя і став позаду них.
And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before them, and stood behind them.
І він увійшов поміж табір єгиптян і поміж табір Ізраїля. І настала темрява та морок; проминула ніч, і за всю ніч вони не змішалися одне з одним.
And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and was a cloud and darkness, and lit up the night; and the one did not come near the other all the night.
І простягнув Мойсей руку на море, і за цілу ніч Господь сильним південним вітром відігнав море і зробив море сушею, — вода розступилася.
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and Jehovah made the sea go [back] by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry [land], and the waters were divided.
І ввійшли Ізраїльські сини на середину моря по суші, а вода була їм стіною праворуч і стіною ліворуч.
And the children of Israel went through the midst of the sea on the dry [ground]; and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
Погналися ж і єгиптяни, — усі коні фараона, колісниці та вершники, — і ввійшли слідом за ними на середину моря.
And the Egyptians pursued and came after them -- all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots and his horsemen, into the midst of the sea.
І сталося за ранішньої сторожі: у стовпі полум’яному й хмарному Господь поглянув на табір єгиптян і послав у табір єгиптян замішання.
And it came to pass in the morning watch, that Jehovah looked upon the camp of the Egyptians, in the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and embarrassed the camp of the Egyptians.
Він позв’язував осі їхніх колісниць і дуже ускладнив їм пересування. Тож єгиптяни сказали: Втікаймо від обличчя Ізраїля, бо Господь воює за них проти єгиптян.
And he took off their chariot wheels, and caused them to drive with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, Let us flee before Israel, for Jehovah is fighting for them against the Egyptians!
А Господь промовив до Мойсея: Простягни свою руку на море, і нехай повернеться вода на колісниці та на вершників, і нехай вона покриє єгиптян.
And Jehovah said to Moses, Stretch out thy hand over the sea, that the waters may return upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots and upon their horsemen.
І простягнув Мойсей руку на море, і на світанку вода повернулася на місце, а єгиптяни втікали під водою. Тож Господь кинув єгиптян усередину моря.
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength toward the morning; and the Egyptians fled against it; and Jehovah overturned the Egyptians into the midst of the sea.
Вода повернулася і покрила колісниці, вершників і все військо фараона, — тих, які ввійшли за ними в море. Не залишилося жодного з них.
And the waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen of all the host of Pharaoh that had come into the sea after them; there remained not even one of them.
Сини ж Ізраїля пройшли сушею посеред моря, а вода була їм стіною праворуч і стіною ліворуч.
And the children of Israel walked on dry [ground] through the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
І того дня Господь визволив Ізраїля з-під руки єгиптян. А на березі моря Ізраїль побачив мертвих єгиптян.
Thus Jehovah saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the sea-shore.
Тож Ізраїль побачив сильну руку — те, що вчинив Господь єгиптянам. І народ став боятися Господа і повірив Богові та Мойсеєві, Його слузі.
And Israel saw the great power [with] which Jehovah had wrought against the Egyptians; and the people feared Jehovah, and believed in Jehovah, and in Moses his bondman.
