Хто Цей, Який прийшов з Едому, у червоних шатах з Восора, Такий величний в шатах могутності, з владою? Я говорю про праведність і суд спасіння.

The Lord’s Day of Vengeance

Who is this who comes from Edom,
in crimsoned garments from Bozrah,
he who is splendid in his apparel,
marching in the greatness of his strength?
“It is I, speaking in righteousness,
mighty to save.”

Чому Твій одяг червоний, і Твоє вбрання, як з витисненого виноградним давилом,

Why is your apparel red,
and your garments like his who treads in the winepress?

повне вичавленого? І з народів немає зі Мною нікого, і Я їх топтав у гніві, і Я їх потоптав, як землю, і звів їхню кров у землю.

“I have trodden the winepress alone,
and from the peoples no one was with me;
I trod them in my anger
and trampled them in my wrath;
their lifeblooda spattered on my garments,
and stained all my apparel.

Бо на них прийшов день відплати, і настав рік викупу.

For the day of vengeance was in my heart,
and my year of redemptionb had come.

І Я поглянув — і немає помічника. І Я помітив — немає помічника. І їх визволила Моя рука, і настав Мій гнів.

I looked, but there was no one to help;
I was appalled, but there was no one to uphold;
so my own arm brought me salvation,
and my wrath upheld me.

І Я їх топтав у Моєму гніві, і Я звів їхню кров у землю!

I trampled down the peoples in my anger;
I made them drunk in my wrath,
and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.”

Я згадав Господнє милосердя, Господню доброту в усьому, чим Господь нам віддасть. Господь — добрий суддя для дому Ізраїля, Він забезпечує нас за Своїм милосердям і за безліччю Своєї праведності.

The Lord’s Mercy Remembered

I will recount the steadfast love of the Lord,
the praises of the Lord,
according to all that the Lord has granted us,
and the great goodness to the house of Israel
that he has granted them according to his compassion,
according to the abundance of his steadfast love.

8

Він сказав: Хіба це не Мій народ? Діти не діятимуть зрадливо! І Він став їм на спасіння

For he said, “Surely they are my people,
children who will not deal falsely.”
And he became their Savior.

9

від усякого утиску. Не посол і не ангел, але сам Господь їх спас, тому що полюбив їх і милував їх. Він їх визволив і прийняв їх, і звеличив їх на всі дні віку.

In all their affliction he was afflicted,c
and the angel of his presence saved them;
in his love and in his pity he redeemed them;
he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.

10

А вони не послухалися і розгнівили Його святий Дух. І Він повернувся їм на ворожнечу, і Він воював проти них.

But they rebelled
and grieved his Holy Spirit;
therefore he turned to be their enemy,
and himself fought against them.

11

І він згадав вічні дні, що вивів із землі пастиря овець. Де є Той, Хто поставив у них святого Духа,

Then he remembered the days of old,
of Moses and his people.d
Where is he who brought them up out of the sea
with the shepherds of his flock?
Where is he who put in the midst of them
his Holy Spirit,

Хто вів правицею Мойсея? Де Його плече слави? Він змусив розступитися воду перед Собою, щоб зробити Собі вічне Ім’я.

who caused his glorious arm
to go at the right hand of Moses,
who divided the waters before them
to make for himself an everlasting name,

13

Провів їх через безодню, як коня через пустелю, і вони не потомилися, —

who led them through the depths?
Like a horse in the desert,
they did not stumble.

14

як худобу через рівнину. Зійшов Дух від Господа і провів їх. Так Ти повів Свій народ, щоб зробити Собі славне Ім’я.

Like livestock that go down into the valley,
the Spirit of the Lord gave them rest.
So you led your people,
to make for yourself a glorious name.

15

Повернися з неба і поглянь з Твого святого дому і слави. Де є Твоя ревність і Твоя сила? Де є безліч Твого милосердя і Твого співчуття, що Ти стримуєш Себе від нас?

Prayer for Mercy

Look down from heaven and see,
from your holy and beautifule habitation.
Where are your zeal and your might?
The stirring of your inner parts and your compassion
are held back from me.

16

Адже Ти — наш Отець, бо Авраам нас не пізнав, — Ізраїль нас не знав, але Ти, Господи, наш Отець! Визволи нас, — від початку на нас є Твоє Ім’я!

For you are our Father,
though Abraham does not know us,
and Israel does not acknowledge us;
you, O Lord, are our Father,
our Redeemer from of old is your name.

17

Чому Ти, Господи, дав нам заблукати з Твоєї дороги, твердими вчинив наші серця, щоб ми Тебе не боялися? Повернися задля Твоїх рабів, задля племен Твого спадку,

17

O Lord, why do you make us wander from your ways
and harden our heart, so that we fear you not?
Return for the sake of your servants,
the tribes of your heritage.

18

щоб ми успадкували трохи Твоєї святої гори, — наші вороги потоптали Твою святиню.

18

Your holy people held possession for a little while;f
our adversaries have trampled down your sanctuary.

19

Ми стали, як на початку, коли Ти не володарював над нами, коли не називалося на нас Твоє Ім’я.
1 Якщо Ти відкриєш небо, то від Тебе гори будуть охоплені тремтінням, і вони розтануть,

We have become like those over whom you have never ruled,
like those who are not called by your name.
