Jerusalem's Unfaithfulness
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
Людський сину, засвідчи Єрусалимові про їхні беззаконня
Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
і скажеш: Так говорить Господь Єрусалимові: Твій корінь і твоє народження — із землі Ханаану, твій батько — Аморей, і твоя матір — хеттійка.
and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah unto Jerusalem: Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of the Canaanite: thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother a Hittite.
А твоє народження, — в той день, в який ти народилася, не зв’язали твоїх грудей, і у воді ти не була помита, і не була посолена сіллю, і не була повита пеленами,
And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water for cleansing; thou wast not rubbed with salt at all, nor swaddled at all.
і тебе не пощадило Моє око, щоб зробити тобі одне з усіх цих, аби трохи боліти за тебе, і ти була кинена на поверхню долини через викривленість твоєї душі в день, в який ти народилася.
No eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, from abhorrence of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
Та Я прийшов до тебе, і Я побачив тебе вимазаною у твоїй крові, і Я тобі сказав: З твоєї крові — життя.
And I passed by thee, and saw thee weltering in thy blood, and I said unto thee, in thy blood, Live! yea, I said unto thee, in thy blood, Live!
Множся. Я тебе дав, наче паросток поля. І ти помножилася, і побільшилася, і ти ввійшла в Місто міст. Твої груди випрямилися, і твоє волосся виросло, ти ж була оголеною і засоромленою.
I caused thee to multiply, as the bud of the field; and thou didst increase and grow great, and thou camest to fulness of beauty; [thy] breasts were fashioned, and thy hair grew: but thou wast naked and bare.
І Я пройшов повз тебе, і Я тебе побачив, і ось твій час, час відпочиваючих, і Я простягнув над тобою Мої крила, і Я покрив твій сором. І Я тобі поклявся, і Я ввійшов у завіт з тобою, — говорить Господь, — і ти стала Моєю.
And I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, and behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness; and I swore unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord Jehovah, and thou becamest mine.
І Я тебе помив у воді, і змив з тебе твою кров, і помазав тебе олією,
And I washed thee with water, and thoroughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil;
і Я тебе зодягнув у різнобарвний одяг, і озув тебе синім сукном, і Я тебе підперезав кармазином, і одягнув тебе у вишукане полотно,
and I clothed thee with embroidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I bound thee about with byssus, and covered thee with silk.
і прикрасив тебе прикрасою, і одягнув обручки на твої руки та намисто на твою шию,
And I decked thee with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck;
і Я дав сережку у твої ніздрі та сережки у твої вуха і вінець хвали на твою голову.
and I put a ring on thy nose, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thy head.
І ти була прикрашена золотом і сріблом, і твій одяг — з вісону та добірного полотна й різнобарвний. Питльоване борошно, мед і олію ти їла і стала дуже гарною.
Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver, and thy raiment was byssus, and silk, and embroidered work. Thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil; and thou becamest exceedingly beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.
І твоє ім’я вийшло в народи про твою красу, тому що ти була досконала красою та виглядом, які Я тобі дав, — говорить Господь.
And thy fame went forth among the nations for thy beauty; for it was perfect through my magnificence, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.
А ти поклала надію на твою красу, і ти чинила розпусту своїм іменем, ти виливала твою розпусту на всяку дорогу,
But thou didst confide in thy beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy whoredoms on every one that passed by: his it was.
і ти взяла з твого одягу, і зробила собі шитих ідолів, і чинила розпусту з ними. І ти не ввійдеш, і не буде так!
And of thy garments thou didst take, and madest for thyself high places decked with divers colours, and didst play the harlot thereupon: [the like] hath not come to pass, and shall be no more.
Ти взяла предмети твоєї краси з Мого золота і з Мого срібла, які Я тобі дав, і ти зробила собі чоловічі подоби, і ти з ними чинила розпусту.
And thou didst take thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of males, and didst commit fornication with them.
І ти взяла твій різнобарвний одяг, і ти його одягнула, а Мою олію та Мій ладан ти поставила перед їхнім обличчям.
And thou tookest thine embroidered garments, and coveredst them; and thou didst set mine oil and mine incense before them.
І Мій хліб, який Я тобі дав! Я годував тебе питльованим борошном, олією та медом, а ти це поставила перед їхнім обличчям на любі пахощі. І сталося, — говорить Господь, —
And my bread which I had given thee, the fine flour and the oil and the honey wherewith I fed thee, thou didst even set it before them for a sweet savour: thus it was, saith the Lord Jehovah.
і ти взяла твоїх синів і твоїх дочок, яких ти народила, і принесла їм у жертву на знищення, наче ти мало чинила розпусти,
And thou didst take thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hadst borne unto me, and these didst thou sacrifice unto them, to be devoured. Were thy whoredoms a small matter,
і ти порізала твоїх дітей, і ти їх віддала, коли ти їх їм принесла в жертву.
that thou didst slay my children and give them up in passing them over to them?
Це понад усю твою розпусту, і ти не згадала днів твого дитинства, коли ти була оголена, засоромлена і жила вимазаною у своїй крові.
And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, when thou wast weltering in thy blood.
І сталося, що після всього твого зла, — говорить Господь, —
And it came to pass after all thy wickedness (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord Jehovah),
ти собі збудувала дім розпусти, і ти собі зробила проголошення на кожній вулиці.
that thou didst also build unto thee a place of debauchery, and didst make thee a high place in every street:
І на початку кожної дороги ти збудувала свої розпусні доми, і ти опоганила свою красу, і ти розставляла свої ноги всякому перехожому, і ти помножила свою розпусту.
thou didst build thy high place at every head of the way, and madest thy beauty to be abhorred, and thou didst open thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiply thy whoredom.
Ти чинила розпусту із синами Єгипту, що мають поставу, що межували з тобою, і ти часто чинила розпусту, щоб у Мене викликати гнів.
And thou didst commit fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and didst multiply thy whoredom to provoke me to anger.
Коли ж Я простягну проти тебе Мою руку, відкину твої закони і видам тебе душам дочок чужинців — тих, що ненавидять тебе, що звернули тебе з твоєї дороги, на якій ти була безбожною.
And behold, I stretched out my hand over thee, and diminished thine appointed portion; and I gave thee over unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, who were confounded at thy lewd way.
І ти чинила розпусту з дочками Ассура, проте й так ти не наситилася. І ти чинила розпусту, і не наситилася.
And thou didst commit fornication with the Assyrians, because thou wast insatiable; yea, thou didst commit fornication with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.
І ти помножила твої завіти із землею халдеїв, але й цими ти не наситилася.
And thou didst multiply thy whoredom with the land of merchants, Chaldea, and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.
Навіщо Мені робити завіт з твоєю дочкою, — говорить Господь, — коли ти чинила це все, діла жінки-розпусниці? І ти втричі більше чинила розпусту
How weak is thy heart, saith the Lord Jehovah, seeing thou doest all these [things], the work of a whorish woman, under no restraint;
з твоїми дочками. Ти збудувала твій розпусний дім на початку всякої дороги, і ти зробила твою сходку на всякій вулиці, і ти стала, як розпусниця, що бере в найми.
in that thou buildest thy place of debauchery at the head of every way, and makest thy high place in every street! And thou hast not been as a harlot, in that thou scornest reward,
До тебе подібна жінка, що чинить перелюб, та яка бере плату від свого чоловіка.
O adulterous wife, that taketh strangers instead of her husband.
Усім, що з нею чинили розпусту, ти давала плату, і ти дала заплати всім твоїм коханцям, і обклала їх, щоб приходили до тебе довкола у твоїй розпусті.
They give rewards to all harlots; but thou gavest thy rewards to all thy lovers, and rewardedst them, that they might come unto thee on every side for thy whoredoms.
І в тобі було звихнення понад усіх жінок у твоїй розпусті, і з тобою не чинили розпусти, коли ти давала заплату, а тобі заплата не була дана, і ти стала звихнена в собі.
And in thee is the contrary from [other] women, in thy whoredoms, in that none followeth thee to commit fornication; and whereas thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, so art thou contrary.
Через це, розпуснице, слухай Господнє слово:
Judgment on Jerusalem
Therefore, O harlot, hear the word of Jehovah.
Therefore, O harlot, hear the word of Jehovah.
Так говорить Господь: Тому що ти вилила твою мідь, і твій сором відкриється у твоїй розпусті до твоїх коханців і до всіх пожадань твоїх беззаконь, і в крові твоїх дітей, яких ти їм дала.
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thy money hath been poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy fornications with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thine abominations, and because of the blood of thy children which thou didst give unto them;
Через це ось Я проти тебе збираю всіх твоїх коханців, тих, з якими ти мішалася, і всіх, яких ти полюбила, з усіма, яких ти ненавиділа. І зберу їх проти тебе довкола, і відкрию їм твоє зло, і вони побачать весь твій сором.
therefore, behold, I will gather all thy lovers with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all that thou hast loved, with all that thou hast hated, -- I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
І помщуся на тобі помстою перелюбниці та поставлю тебе в крові гніву і ревнощів.
And I will judge thee with the judgments of women that commit adultery and shed blood; and I will give thee up to the blood of fury and jealousy;
І видам тебе в їхні руки, і розіб’ють твій дім розпусти, і знищать твої сходинки, і роздягнуть тебе з твого одягу, і заберуть посуд твоєї похвали, і залишать тебе оголеною та засоромленою.
and I will give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thy place of debauchery, and shall break down thy high places; and they shall strip thee of thy garments, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
І наведуть на тебе натовпи, і каменують тебе камінням, і посічуть тебе своїми мечами.
And they shall bring up an assemblage against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.
І спалять твої доми вогнем, і вчинять у тобі помсту перед численними жінками. І Я відверну тебе від розпусти, і більше не даси заплати.
And they shall burn thy houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women; and I will cause thee to cease from being a harlot, and thou also shalt give no more any reward.
Я послаблю гнів Мій, що проти тебе, і заберуться від тебе Мої ревнощі, Я спочину і більше не дбатиму.
And I will appease my fury against thee, and my jealousy shall depart from thee; and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
Тому що ти не згадала день твого дитинства і засмутила Мене цим усім, і ось Я поклав твої дороги на твою голову, — говорить Господь. І так ти чинила безбожність в усіх твоїх беззаконнях.
Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast raged against me in all these [things], behold, therefore, I also will recompense thy way upon [thy] head, saith the Lord Jehovah, and thou shalt not commit this lewdness besides all thine abominations.
Це є все, що сказали проти тебе в притчі, кажучи: Яка матір, така й дочка.
Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall speak in a proverb against thee, saying, As the mother, [so is] her daughter!
Ти є дочкою твоєї матері, що відкинула свого чоловіка, своїх дітей і сестер твоїх сестер, що відставили своїх чоловіків і їхніх дітей. Ваша матір — хеттійка, і ваш батько — Аморей.
Thou art the daughter of thy mother that loathed her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
Ваша старша сестра — Самарія, вона і її дочки, та, що живе зліва від тебе, і твоя сестра молодша за тебе, що живе справа від тебе — Содома [1] і її дочки.
And thine elder sister is Samaria that dwelleth at thy left hand, she and her daughters; and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
А ти навіть не ходила так, як вони їхніми дорогами, і не чинила за їхніми беззаконнями. І в малому ти їх перевищила на всіх твоїх дорогах.
And thou hast not walked in their ways, nor done according to their abominations; but as though that were a very little, thou hast been more corrupt than they in all thy ways.
Живу Я, — говорить Господь, — твоя сестра Содома, вона і її дочки, не зробили так, як зробила ти і твої дочки.
[As] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters!
Лише це беззаконня Содоми, твоєї сестри, — гордість. Вона і її дочки, що жили в повноті хліба та в добробуті. Це було її та її дочкам, і вони не допомогли руці бідного й убогого.
Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom: pride, fulness of bread, and careless ease was in her and in her daughters, but she did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
І вони гордилися, і чинили беззаконня переді Мною, і Я їх відкинув, так, як Я побачив.
And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me, and I took them away when I saw [it].
А Самарія не згрішила і до половини твоїх гріхів. Ти ж помножила свої беззаконня понад них, і ти оправдала твоїх сестер в усіх твоїх беззаконнях, які ти робила,
And Samaria hath not sinned according to the half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters by all thine abominations which thou hast done.
тож прийми свою муку за те, що ти знищила твоїх сестер твоїми гріхами, якими ти чинила беззаконня понад них, і ти їх оправдала понад себе саму. І ти засоромся та візьми твоє безчестя, коли оправдаєш твоїх сестер.
Thou also, who hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own confusion, because of thy sins in which thou hast acted more abominably than they: they are more righteous than thou. So be thou ashamed also, and bear thy confusion, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.
І поверну їхні відвернення, відвернення Содоми і її дочок, і поверну відвернення Самарії і її дочок, і поверну твоє відвернення посеред них,
And I will bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, and the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them;
щоб ти прийняла свою муку і обезчестилася за все, що ти зробила, коли ти викликала в Мене гнів.
that thou mayest bear thy confusion, and mayest be confounded for all that thou hast done, in that thou comfortest them.
І твоя сестра Содома та її дочки будуть повернені до того, якими були на початку. І Самарія та її дочки будуть повернені до того, якими були на початку. І ти та твої дочки будете повернені до того, якими ви були на початку.
And thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate; thou also and thy daughters, ye shall return to your former estate.
І хіба не була твоя сестра Содома поголоскою у твоїх устах у дні твоєї гордості,
Yea, Sodom thy sister was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,
раніше, ніж відкрито твої злоби, так, як тепер ти є зневагою для дочок Сирії і всіх, що довкола неї, дочок чужинок, що оточують тебе довкола?
before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, who despise thee on every side.
Твої безбожності й твої беззаконня, ти їх прийми, — говорить Господь.
Thy lewdness and thine abominations, thou bearest them, saith Jehovah.
Так говорить Господь: І Я зроблю з тобою так, як ти зробила, як ти це збезчестила, щоби переступити Мій завіт.
The Covenant Remembered
For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, who hast despised the oath, and broken the covenant.

І Я згадаю Мій завіт, що з тобою в дні твоєї молодості, і поставлю тобі вічний завіт.
Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.
І згадаєш твою дорогу, і будеш збезчещена, коли ти приймеш твоїх сестер, що старші за тебе, з тими, що молодші за тебе, і Я дам їх тобі на збудування, і не від твого завіту.
And thou shalt remember thy ways, and be confounded, when thou shalt receive thy sisters who are older than thou, together with those who are younger than thou; for I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by virtue of thy covenant.
І Я підніму Мій завіт з тобою, і пізнаєш, що Я — Господь,
And I will establish my covenant with thee, and thou shalt know that I [am] Jehovah;
тому що згадаєш і застидаєшся, і хай не буде, щоб ти ще відкрила свої уста від присутності твого безчестя, коли тобою Мені надолужено за все, що ти зробила, — говорить Господь.
that thou mayest remember, and be ashamed, and no more open thy mouth because of thy confusion, when I forgive thee all that thou hast done, saith the Lord Jehovah.
