Ezekiel Eats the Scroll
And he said unto me, Son of man, eat what thou findest; eat this roll, and go, speak unto the house of Israel.
And he said unto me, Son of man, eat what thou findest; eat this roll, and go, speak unto the house of Israel.
І я відкрив мої уста, і Він мене нагодував сувоєм.
So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
І промовив до мене: Людський сину, твої вуста їстимуть, і твій живіт наповниться цим даним тобі сувоєм. І я його з’їв, і він був у моїх устах як солодкий мед.
And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll which I give thee. And I ate, and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
І Він сказав мені: Людський сину, іди, прийди до дому Ізраїля і скажи їм Мої слова.
And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.
Тому що не до складно-мовного і народу-заїки ти посланий, а до дому Ізраїля,
For thou art not sent to a people of strange language, and of difficult speech, [but] to the house of Israel;
не до численних чужомовних, з дивною мовою народів, і не до тих, що тугі язиком, слова яких не зрозумієш. І якщо б Я тебе послав до таких, вони тебе вислухали б.
not to many peoples of strange language and of difficult speech, whose words thou canst not understand: had I sent thee to them, would they not hearken unto thee?
А дім Ізраїля не захоче тебе послухатися, тому що не бажають Мене слухатися. Адже весь дім Ізраїля — схильний сперечатися і твердого серця.
But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee, for none of them will hearken unto me. For all the house of Israel are hard of forehead and stiff of heart.
І ось Я дав твоє обличчя сильним перед їхнім обличчям і укріплю твою перемогу перед їхньою перемогою,
Behold, I have made thy face hard against their faces, and thy forehead hard against their foreheads.
і завжди буде сильніше від каменя. Не бійся їх і не лякайся їхнього обличчя, бо він — Дім, що засмучує.
As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead. Fear them not, neither be dismayed at them, for they are a rebellious house.
І Він сказав мені: Людський сину, усі слова, які Я тобі сказав, візьми до твого серця і почуй своїми вухами,
And he said unto me, Son of man, all my words which I shall speak unto thee, receive in thy heart, and hear with thine ears;
і йди, вийди до полонених, до синів твого народу, заговориш до них і скажеш їм: Так говорить Господь! Може послухають, а може здадуться.
and go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, -- whether they will hear or whether they will forbear.
І мене взяв дух, і я почув позаду себе шум великої бурі: Благословенна Господня слава з Його місця.
And the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the sound of a great rushing, [saying,] Blessed be the glory of Jehovah from his place!
І я побачив шум крил тварин, що рухали крилами один до одного, і звук коліс поблизу них, і голос бурі.
And the sound of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, And the sound of the wheels beside them, And the sound of a great rushing.
І дух мене підняв, і взяв мене, і я пішов у пориві мого духу, і сильна Господня рука була на мені.
And the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of Jehovah was strong upon me.
Я прийшов до полонених горою, і я обійшов тих, що живуть біля ріки Ховар, тих, що були там, і я сидів там сім днів, живучи посеред них.
And I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river Chebar, and I sat where they sat; and I sat there astonied among them seven days.
І після сімох днів до мене було Господнє слово, кажучи:
A Watchman for Israel
And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
Людський сину, Я призначив тебе сторожем для дому Ізраїля, тож послухай слова з Моїх уст, і погрожуватимеш їм від Мене.
Son of man, I have appointed thee a watchman unto the house of Israel, and thou shalt hear the word from my mouth, and give them warning from me.
Коли Я кажу беззаконному: Ти дійсно помреш! [1] — а ти не сповістив йому, і ти не сказав, щоб сповістити беззаконному, аби він звернув зі своїх доріг, щоб він жив, то той беззаконний помре у своєму беззаконні, та його крові Я домагатимуся з твоєї руки.
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt certainly die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, that he may live: the same wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thy hand.
Якщо ж ти сповістиш беззаконному, і він не відвернеться від свого беззаконня і від своєї дороги, той беззаконний помре у своєму беззаконні, а ти врятуєш твою душу.
But if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
І коли праведний відвернеться від своїх праведних учинків і чинитиме переступи, то дам кару перед його обличчям, — він помре, бо ти йому не сповістив. І він помре у своїх гріхах, оскільки не згадаються його праведності, які він робив, та його крові Я домагатимуся з твоєї руки.
And when a righteous [man] doth turn from his righteousness, and do what is wrong, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die; because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous acts which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thy hand.
А якщо ти сповістиш праведному, щоб той не грішив, і він не грішитиме, то праведний безсумнівно буде жити [2] , бо ти йому сповістив, і ти врятуєш свою душу.
And if thou warn the righteous [man], that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall certainly live, for he hath taken warning; and thou hast delivered thy soul.
І на мені була Господня рука, і Він сказав мені: Встань і вийди на рівнину, і там говоритиметься до тебе.
And the hand of Jehovah was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the valley, and there I will talk with thee.
І я встав, і вийшов на рівнину, і ось там стояла Господня слава, так, як видіння, і так, як слава, яку я побачив біля ріки Ховат, і я впав на своє обличчя.
And I arose, and went forth into the valley, and behold, the glory of Jehovah stood there, like the glory which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.
І зійшов на мене дух, і поставив мене на мої ноги, і заговорив до мене, і сказав мені: Увійди і замкнися посеред твого дому!
And the Spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet; and he spoke with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thy house.
І ти, людський сину, ось на тебе будуть накладені кайдани, і ними тебе зв’яжуть, і не вийдеш з-посеред них.
And thou, son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee therewith, and thou shalt not go out among them.
І Я зв’яжу твій язик, і занімієш, і не будеш їм за чоловіка, що картає, тому що це — Дім, що засмучує.
And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover; for they are a rebellious house.
І коли Я говоритиму до тебе, то відкрию твої уста, і скажеш їм: Так говорить Господь: Хто слухає, нехай слухає, а хто не слухається, хай не слухається, тому що це — Дім, що засмучує.
And when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
