Laws Concerning Vows
And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded.

А до князів ізраїльських племен Мойсей звернувся, кажучи: Ось слово, яке заповів Господь:
If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
Будь-яка людина [1] , котра складе обітницю Господу, чи дасть клятву, чи візьме зобов’язання стосовно своєї душі, — хай не збезчестить свого слова, а нехай виконає все, що лише вийде з її вуст.
If a woman also vow a vow unto the LORD, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth;
Якщо ж жінка складе обітницю Господу, чи дасть зобов’язання в домі свого батька за своєї молодості,
And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.
і її батько почує її обітницю та її зобов’язання, якими зобов’язалася стосовно своєї душі, і її батько промовчить, — то всі її обітниці і всі її зобов’язання, котрими зобов’язалася стосовно своєї душі, залишаться для неї в силі.
But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
Якщо ж її батько в той день, коли почує всі її обітниці, строго заборонить [2] , то її зобов’язання, якими зобов’язалася стосовно своєї душі, не матимуть сили. І Господь очистить її, оскільки заборонив її батько.
And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;
Якщо ж вона вже буде [3] заміжня, і її обітниці за висловлюванням її вуст, якими зобов’язалася стосовно своєї душі,
And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
почує її чоловік, але промовчить у той день, коли почує, то всі її обітниці залишаться в силі, і її зобов’язання, котрими зобов’язалася стосовно своєї душі, залишаться.
But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall forgive her.
Якщо ж її чоловік у той день, коли почує всі її обітниці та її зобов’язання, якими зобов’язалася стосовно своєї душі, строго заборонить [4] , то вони не матимуть сили, бо її чоловік заборонив, і Господь її звільнить.
But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.
А обітниця вдови, і відпущеної чоловіком, — усе, що пообіцяє стосовно своєї душі, — залишиться в силі.
And if she vowed in her husband's house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath;
Якщо ж обітницю жінки в домі свого чоловіка чи зобов’язання з клятвою стосовно своєї душі
And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
почує її чоловік, і він промовчить, не заборонить їй, то всі її обітниці і всі її зобов’язання, якими зобов’язалася стосовно своєї душі, залишаться для неї в силі.
But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her.
Якщо ж її чоловік у той день, коли почує все, що вийшло з її вуст у її обітниці й зобов’язаннях стосовно її душі, категорично скасує [5] , то вони для неї не залишаться в силі: чоловік їй заборонив, і Господь її звільнить.
Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.
Усяку обітницю і всяку зобов’язуючу клятву, щоби вчинити зло душі, її чоловік або залишить у силі, або скасує.
But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.
Якщо ж мовчатиме [6] з дня на день, то залишить у силі всі її обітниці і всі її зобов’язання, що на ній, бо промовчав у той день, коли почув.
But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity.
