Rewards of Obedience

Усвідомте це сьогодні, бо я говорю не з вашими дітьми, які не знають і не бачили покарань Господа, твого Бога, Його величних діл, могутньої руки й піднесеного рамена,
And know ye this day ...; for [I speak] not with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of Jehovah your God, his greatness, his powerful hand, and his stretched-out arm,
Його знамень та Його чудес, які Він здійснив у Єгипті фараонові, єгипетському цареві, і всій його землі;
and his signs and his acts which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
того, що Він учинив з військом єгиптян, їхніми колісницями та їхньою кіннотою, — як Він затопив їхні обличчя водою Червоного моря, коли вони гналися за вами, і Господь погубив їх аж до сьогоднішнього дня;
and what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and unto their chariots, over which he made the water of the Red sea flow as they pursued after you, and Jehovah destroyed them unto this day;

and what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben, -- how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, with their households, and their tents, and all the living substance that belonged to them, in the midst of all Israel.
Адже ваші очі бачили всі величні Господні діла, які Він вам сьогодні здійснив.
For your eyes have seen all the great work of Jehovah which he hath done.
Тож дотримуйтеся всіх Його заповідей, які Я тобі сьогодні заповідаю, щоб ви жили і стали численні, та щоб увійшли й узяли у володіння землю, до якої ви переправляєтеся через Йордан, щоб заволодіти нею;
God's Great Blessings
Keep then all the commandment which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and enter in and possess the land, whither ye pass over to possess it;

and that ye may prolong your days in the land which Jehovah swore unto your fathers to give unto them and unto their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.
Адже земля, в яку ви входите, щоб заволодіти нею, не є така, як Єгипетська земля, з якої ви вийшли, — де сіють насіння і тоді зрошують працею своїх ніг, як овочі на городі.
For the land, whither thou enterest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs;

but the land, whereunto ye are passing over to possess it, is a land of mountains and valleys, which drinketh water of the rain of heaven,
земля, за якою наглядає Господь, твій Бог: очі Господа, твого Бога, звернені на неї безперестанно, від початку року й аж до кінця року.
a land which Jehovah thy God careth for; the eyes of Jehovah thy God are constantly upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
Якщо ви справді будете слухатись [1] усіх Його заповідей, які я сьогодні тобі заповідаю, — любити Господа, свого Бога, і служити Йому всім своїм серцем і всією своєю душею, —
And it shall come to pass, if ye hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love Jehovah your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
то Він своєчасно даватиме твоїй землі ранній і пізній дощ, — і ти збиратимеш своє збіжжя, своє вино та свою олію;
that I will give rain to your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain; and thou shalt gather in thy corn, and thy new wine, and thine oil;
Він даватиме корм для твоєї худоби на твоїх полях. Тож поївши й наситившись,
and I will give grass in thy field for thy cattle; and thou shalt eat and be full.
стережися, щоб твоє серце не загорділо, і ви не відступили й не стали служити іншим богам та поклонятися їм, —
Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside and serve other gods, and bow down to them,
і щоб Господь, розсердившись, не розгнівався на вас і не замкнув небо, — і тоді не буде дощу, земля не дасть свого врожаю, і ви швидко вигинете з тієї доброї землі, яку Господь дав вам.
and Jehovah's wrath kindle against you, and he shut up the heavens, that there be no rain, and that the ground yield not its produce, and ye perish quickly from off the good land which Jehovah is giving you.
Закарбуйте ці слова у своєму серці й у своїй душі. Прив’яжіть їх як знак на своїй руці, і нехай вони будуть непорушними перед вашими очима.

Навчіть своїх дітей проказувати їх, сидячи в домі та йдучи дорогою, лягаючи та встаючи.
And ye shall teach them unto your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou goest on the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up;
Напишіть їх на одвірках своїх домів та своїх воріт,
and write them upon the posts of thy house, and upon thy gates;
щоб ви були довголітні, і дні ваших синів на землі, яку Господь поклявся вашим батькам дати їм, були як дні неба над землею.
that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Jehovah swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens [which are] above the earth.
І буде, — якщо ви справді будете слухатись [2] усіх цих заповідей, які я сьогодні вам заповідаю виконувати, — любити Господа, нашого Бога, ходити всіма Його дорогами і триматися Його, —
For if ye diligently keep all this commandment which I command you [this day] to do it, to love Jehovah your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him,
то Господь прожене всі ці народи з-перед вашого обличчя, і ви заволодієте землею великих і значно сильніших від вас народів.
then will Jehovah dispossess all these nations from before you, and ye shall take possession of nations greater and mightier than yourselves.
Кожне місце, де лиш ступить стопа вашої ноги, належатиме вам; ваші кордони будуть від пустелі й Антиливану, від великої ріки, — ріки Євфрат, аж до моря, що на заході.
Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours; from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the hinder sea shall your border be.
Ніхто не встоїть проти вашого обличчя. Господь, ваш Бог, наведе страх і трепет перед вами на обличчя кожної землі, на яку ви ступите, — як Господь вам і сказав.
No man shall be able to stand before you: the fear of you and the dread of you will Jehovah your God lay upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

See, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:

благословення — якщо ви послухаєтеся заповідей Господа, вашого Бога, які я вам сьогодні заповідаю;
a blessing, if ye obey the commandments of Jehovah your God, which I command you this day;
і прокляття — якщо не послухаєтеся заповідей Господа, вашого Бога, які я вам сьогодні заповідаю, і звернете з дороги, яку я вам заповів, пішовши служити іншим богам, яких ви не знаєте.
and a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of Jehovah your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods which ye have not known.
І буде, — коли Господь, твій Бог, введе тебе в землю, до якої ти переправляєшся, щоб заволодіти нею, то проголосиш благословення на горі Ґарізін, а прокляття — на горі Ґевал.
And it shall come to pass, when Jehovah thy God hath brought thee into the land whither thou enterest in to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.
Хіба не ось вони за Йорданом, за дорогою на захід сонця, у землі Ханаан, що знаходиться на заході поблизу Ґолґола, неподалік від Високого дуба?
Are they not on the other side of the Jordan, beyond the way toward the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites that dwell on the plain opposite to Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?
Адже ви переправляєтеся через Йордан, входячи, щоб заволодіти землею, яку Господь, ваш Бог, дає вам у володіння на всі часи; ви заволодієте нею і будете жити на ній.
