Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spake unto me: and we compassed mount Seir many days.

Досить вам кружляти навколо цієї гори. Повертайте на північ.
Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.
Звели народові, кажучи: Ось ви перетинаєте кордони своїх братів, синів Ісава, які живуть у Сиїрі. Вони боятимуться вас і дуже остерігатимуться.
And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore:
Не виступайте проти них з війною, бо Я не дам вам їхньої землі навіть на стопу ноги, — адже Я дав гору Сиїр у володіння Ісавові.
Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession.
Їжу будете в них купувати — і будете їсти; і воду будете в них брати мірою за гроші — і будете пити.
Ye shall buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also buy water of them for money, that ye may drink.
Адже Господь, наш Бог, поблагословив тебе в кожному ділі твоїх рук. Задумайся, як ти пройшов цю велику й страшну пустелю. Ось уже сорок років ГОСПОДЬ, твій Бог, з тобою, — і ти ні в чому не мав недостатку.
For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
Тож ми пройшли попри наших братів, синів Ісава, що живуть у Сиїрі, попри дорогу до Арави від Елона і від Гасіон-Ґавера, і, повернувши, пройшли попри дорогу до моавської пустелі.
And when we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from Eziongaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.
Тоді Господь сказав мені: Не ворогуйте з моавійцями і не виступайте проти них з війною, бо Я не дам вам у володіння їхньої землі, — адже Я дав Сиїр у володіння синам Лота.
And the LORD said unto me, Distress not the Moabites, neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give thee of their land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession.
(Раніше на ній жили оммінці — великий, численний і сильний народ, такий як енакімці.
The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims;
Вони також вважатимуться рафаїнцями, як і енакімці, та моавійці називають їх оммінцями.
Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites call them Emims.
У Сиїрі також раніше жили хорейці; та сини Ісава вигубили їх, стерли їх перед своїм обличчям і поселилися на їхньому місці — так, як учинив Ізраїль із землею, яку дав йому ГОСПОДЬ у його володіння).
The Horims also dwelt in Seir beforetime; but the children of Esau succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did unto the land of his possession, which the LORD gave unto them.
Тож тепер ви встаньте, руште та перейдіть через долину Заред. І ми перейшли через долину Заред.
Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered.
А часу, що ми подорожували з Кадис-Варни, аж поки перейшли через долину Заред, було тридцять вісім років, — доки не вимерло все покоління чоловіків-воїнів у таборі, як Господь і поклявся їм.
And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them.
Та й Божа рука була проти них, щоб вигубити їх із табору, аж поки вони не вигинули.
For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.
І сталося, — коли загинули всі чоловіки-воїни, вимираючи з-посеред народу,
So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,
Сьогодні ти перетнеш кордони Моаву, Ароір,
Thou art to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day:
і ви наблизитесь до синів Аммана. Не ворогуйте з ними, не виступайте проти них з війною, бо Я не дам тобі у володіння землі синів Аммана, — адже Я дав її у володіння синам Лота.
And when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.
(Вона вважатиметься землею рафаїнців, адже і на ній раніше жили рафаїнці; амманійці ж називають їх зомзоммінцями.
(That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims;
Це великий, численний і дуже сильний народ, такий як енакімці. Та Господь вигубив їх перед обличчям амманійців, і ті захопили їх та поселилися на їхньому місці,
A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead:
так само, як вони вчинили синам Ісава, які живуть у Сиїрі, таким чином, як вигубили перед їхнім обличчям хорейців і захопили їх, поселилися на їхньому місці й живуть аж до цього дня.
As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day:
Також евейці, які живуть в Асероті аж до Ґази, та кападокійці, які вийшли з Кападокії, вигубили їх і поселилися на їхньому місці).
And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, even unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.)
Тож тепер ви встаньте, рушайте та перейдіть через долину Арнон. Ось Я видав у твої руки аморейця Сеона, есевонського царя, та його землю. Починай захоплювати її, — виступай проти нього з війною.
King Sihon Defeated
Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

Із цього дня починай наводити страх і трепет перед собою на обличчя всіх народів, що під небом, які, почувши твоє ім’я, затривожаться та затремтять перед твоїм обличчям.
This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee.
Тож я послав послів з пустелі Кедамот до Сеона, есевонського царя, з мирними словами, кажучи:
And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying,
Дозволь мені перейти через твою землю; я проходитиму по дорозі, не звертатиму ні праворуч, ні ліворуч.
Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn unto the right hand nor to the left.
Їжу продаватимеш мені за гроші, — і я їстиму, і воду продаватимеш мені за гроші, — і я питиму. Дозволь мені тільки перейти ногами,
Thou shalt sell me meat for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only I will pass through on my feet;
як це мені вчинили сини Ісава, які живуть у Сиїрі, та моавійці, які живуть в Ароірі, — аж доки я не переправлюся через Йордан до землі, яку Господь, наш Бог, дає нам.
(As the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did unto me;) until I shall pass over Jordan into the land which the LORD our God giveth us.
Та Сеон, есевонський цар, не хотів, щоб ми перейшли через його землю, бо Господь, наш Бог, учинив його дух непоступливим і його серце вчинив упертим, щоб він був виданий у твої руки, як це і є цього дня.
But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the LORD thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as appeareth this day.
Тоді Господь сказав мені: Ось Я почав видавати перед твоїм обличчям аморейця Сеона, есевонського царя, та його землю. Починай брати у володіння його землю.
And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land.
І Сеон вийшов нам назустріч, — він та весь його народ, — на війну до Яси.
Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Jahaz.
Та Господь, наш Бог, видав його перед нашим обличчям, і ми побили його, його синів та весь його народ.
And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.
Того часу ми захопили всі міста і вигубили по черзі кожне місто, — і їхніх жінок, і їхніх дітей, — не залишили живим нікого.
And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:
Ми забрали тільки худобу та взяли здобич із міст.
Only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.
Від Ароера, що на березі потоку Арнон, та міста, що в долині, і аж до гори Ґалааду не було міста, яке вбереглося б від нас; усіх їх Господь, наш Бог, видав у наші руки.
From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us:
Лише до землі синів Аммона, до всього, що прилягає до потоку Явок та до міст, що в гірській місцевості, ми не наближалися, як Господь, наш Бог, наказав нам.
Only unto the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor unto any place of the river Jabbok, nor unto the cities in the mountains, nor unto whatsoever the LORD our God forbad us.
