Roles in Worship
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Хвалю вас, брати, що про все моє пам’ятаєте й дотримуєтеся передань так, як я вам передав.
Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
Хочу, щоб ви знали, що Христос є головою для кожного чоловіка, для жінки голова — чоловік, а голова Христа — Бог.
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Кожний чоловік, який молиться або пророкує з покритою головою, соромить свою голову.
Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
Кожна жінка, яка молиться або пророкує з відкритою головою, соромить голову свою, бо це те саме, якби була обстрижена.
But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
Тож якщо жінка не покривається, нехай острижеться. А якщо жінці соромно стригтися чи голитися, нехай покривається.
For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
Чоловік, будучи образом і славою Бога, не повинен покривати голову, а жінка є славою чоловіка.
For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
Адже чоловік не походить від жінки, але жінка від чоловіка,
For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
оскільки чоловік не був створений задля жінки, але жінка — задля чоловіка.
Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
Через це жінка повинна мати на голові знак влади задля ангелів.
For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
Однак у Господі — ні чоловік без жінки, ні жінка без чоловіка.
Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
Бо як жінка від чоловіка, так і чоловік через жінку, але все — від Бога.
For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
Посудіть самі: чи годиться жінці молитися Богові непокритою?
Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
Чи ж сама природа вас не вчить, що коли чоловік запускає довге волосся, це сором для нього?
Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
Коли жінка відрощує довге волосся, це для неї слава: їй дано волосся замість покривала.
But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
Та якщо хто бажає сперечатися, то такого звичаю не маємо ні ми, ні Божі Церкви.
But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
Даючи ці зауваження, не хвалю, що збираєтеся ви не на краще, а на гірше.
Observing the Lord's Supper
Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
По-перше, чую, що коли ви збираєтеся в Церкві, між вами є розділення, чому я частково і вірю.
For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
Бо так треба, щоб між вами були відмінності в поглядах, аби виявилися між вами й досвідчені.
For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
Крім того, коли ви сходитеся разом, то не на те, щоби приймати Господню вечерю,
When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.
адже кожний, випереджаючи інших, споживає свою вечерю, тож один голодує, а інший упивається.
For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
Невже не маєте домів, щоб їсти й пити? Хіба цим ви не зневажаєте Божу Церкву і не соромите тих, які не мають? Що вам сказати? Може, похвалити вас? Ні, за це не похвалю!
What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
Адже я прийняв це від Господа і вам передав: що Господь Ісус тієї ночі, коли був виданий, узяв хліб,
For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
і поблагословивши, переломив і сказав: [Прийміть, споживайте], це — тіло Моє, що за вас [ламається]. Робіть це на спомин про Мене!
And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Так само й чашу взяв Він по вечері й сказав: Ця чаша — Новий Завіт у Моїй крові. Робіть це щоразу, коли будете пити, — на спомин про Мене!
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
Бо щоразу, як тільки будете їсти цей хліб і чашу [цю] пити, ви звіщаєте смерть Господа, аж поки Він прийде!
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
Так що, хто їстиме [цей] хліб і питиме Господню чашу недостойно, буде винний супроти тіла й крові [1] Господньої!
Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
Тож нехай людина випробовує себе і так нехай їсть хліб та п’є із чаші.
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
Бо хто [недостойно] їсть і п’є, не розрізняючи [Господнє] тіло, той на осуд їсть і п’є.
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
Через це між вами багато хворих і недужих, і чимало тих, які впокоїлися.
For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
Бо якби ми самих себе судили, то нас би не судили.
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
А як Господь судить, то повчає нас, щоб ми не були осуджені зі світом.
But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
Тому, брати мої, як сходитеся їсти, очікуйте один одного.
Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
