The Resurrection of Christ
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

яким спасаєтеся, коли дотримуєте слово таким, яким я вам його сповістив; якщо ж ні, — ви повірили надаремно.
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
Найперше я вам передав те, що й прийняв, що Христос, згідно з Писанням, помер за наші гріхи,
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
і Він був похований, і третього дня воскрес, згідно з Писанням;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
після того Він з’явився одночасно понад п’ятистам братам, з яких багато хто живе ще й донині, а деякі спочили.
After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
нарешті з’явився і мені, — наче якомусь недоноскові.
And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
Адже я найменший з апостолів, недостойний називатися апостолом, оскільки я переслідував Божу Церкву.
For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
Та благодаттю Божою я є тим, ким є. Його благодать, що в мені, не була марною, бо я трудився більше за них усіх; втім, не я, а Божа благодать, що була зі мною.
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Тож чи я, чи вони, але ми так проповідуємо, і так ви повірили.
Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
Коли ж про Христа проповідується, що Він воскрес із мертвих, то як деякі з вас кажуть, що немає воскресіння мертвих?
The Resurrection of the Dead
Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
Якщо немає воскресіння мертвих, то й Христос не воскрес.
But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
А якщо Христос не воскрес, тоді марна й проповідь наша, марна й віра ваша.
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Ми ж виявляємося неправдивими Божими свідками, бо засвідчили про Бога, що Він воскресив Христа, Якого не воскресив, якщо насправді мертві не воскресають.
Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
Адже коли мертві не воскресають, то й Христос не воскрес.
For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
Якщо ж Христос не воскрес, тоді віра ваша марна: ви все ще в гріхах ваших.
And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
Тоді й ті, які упокоїлися у Христі, загинули!
Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
Коли ми надіємося на Христа тільки в цьому житті, то ми найнещасніші з усіх людей!
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Та тепер Христос устав з мертвих, — первісток з покійних.
The Order of Resurrection
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

Оскільки смерть через людину, — то через людину й воскресіння мертвих.
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
Як в Адамі всі помирають, так у Христі всі оживуть.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Кожний у своєму порядку: первісток Христос, потім ті, які Христові, — під час Його приходу,
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
а потім — кінець, коли Він передасть царство Богові й Отцеві, коли знищить усяку владу, усяке панування та силу.
Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
Бо Йому належить царювати, доки не покладе всіх Своїх ворогів Собі під ноги.
For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
Останній ворог, який буде знищений, — це смерть,
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
бо все підкорив Йому під ноги. Коли ж каже, що все вже підкорене, то ясно, що це за винятком Того, Хто підкорив Йому все.
For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
Коли ж підкорить Йому все, тоді й Сам Син підкориться Тому, Хто підкорив Йому все, щоб Він був Богом усім і в усьому.
And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Бо що роблять ті, які хрестяться заради мертвих? Якщо мертві взагалі не встають, то навіщо хреститися задля мертвих?
Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?
Я щодня помираю; така ваша похвала, брати, яку маю в Христі Ісусі, нашому Господі.
I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
Коли я боровся зі звірами в Ефесі як людина, то яка мені від того користь? Якщо мертві не встають, то «будемо їсти і пити, бо завтра помремо».
If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.
Не давайте себе обманути: погане товариство псує добрі звичаї.
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Станьте насправді тверезими й не грішіть, бо деякі, кажу вам на сором, Бога не знають.
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
Але дехто скаже: Як же мертві встануть? В якому тілі прийдуть?
The Resurrection Body
But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
Нерозумний! Те, що ти сієш, не оживе, якщо не помре.
Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
І те, що ти сієш, то не майбутнє тіло сієш, а тільки зерно, яке прийдеться, — пшениці чи чогось іншого.
And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
А Бог дає йому тіло, яке забажає: кожному насінню — власне тіло.
But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
Не кожне тіло є таким самим тілом; інше тіло в людей, інше — у тварин, інше — в риб, інше — у птахів.
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
Є тіла небесні й тіла земні. Але одна слава в небесних, а інша — у земних.
There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
Інша слава в сонця, інша слава в місяця, інша слава в зірок, бо зірка від зірки відрізняється славою.
There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
Так само й воскресіння мертвих: сіється в тлінні, встає в нетлінні;
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
сіється в неславі, встає в славі; сіється в немочі, встає в силі;
It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
сіється тіло душевне, встає тіло духовне. Якщо є тіло душевне, то є й духовне.
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
Так і написано: Перша людина — Адам — став живою душею, а останній Адам — Дух, Який оживляє.
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Але не духовний спочатку, а душевний; потім — духовний.
Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
Перша людина — із землі, земна. Друга Людина, [Господь], — з неба.
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
Який земний — такі й земні, і Який небесний — такі й небесні.
As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
І як ми носили образ земного, так носитимемо образ небесного.
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Ось що кажу, брати: тіло й кров Божого Царства успадкувати не можуть, і тління нетлінного не успадковує.
Where O Death is Your Victory?
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Ось кажу вам таємницю: не всі ми впокоїмося, але всі перемінимося, —
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
раптово, миттєво, при останній сурмі; вона засурмить — і мертві воскреснуть нетлінними, а ми перемінимося.
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Адже це тлінне має зодягнутися в нетління, і це смертне має зодягнутися в безсмертя.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
Коли ж це тлінне зодягнеться в нетління, а смертне зодягнеться в безсмертя, тоді збудуться написані слова: Смерть поглинута перемогою!
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Смерте, де твоя перемога? Де твоє, смерте, жало?
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
Жало смерті — це гріх, а сила гріха — Закон.
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
Та подяка Богові, що Він дає нам перемогу через Господа нашого Ісуса Христа.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Тому, мої любі брати, будьте стійкі, непохитні, завжди відзначайтеся в Господньому ділі, знаючи, що ваша праця в Господі не даремна.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
