Отже, коли ви з Христом воскресли, то шукайте горішнього — того, де Христос сидить праворуч Бога.
Put on the New Self
If therefore ye have been raised with the Christ, seek the things [which are] above, where the Christ is, sitting at [the] right hand of God:

Думайте про горішнє, — не про земне.
have your mind on the things [that are] above, not on the things [that are] on the earth;
Адже ви померли, і ваше життя поховане з Христом у Бозі.
for ye have died, and your life is hid with the Christ in God.
Коли з’явиться Христос — ваше життя, тоді й ви з’явитеся з Ним у славі.
When the Christ is manifested who [is] our life, then shall *ye* also be manifested with him in glory.
Тому умертвіть [ваші] земні члени: розпусту, нечистоту, пристрасть, потяг до зла і жадобу до наживи, що є ідолослужінням.
Put to death therefore your members which [are] upon the earth, fornication, uncleanness, vile passions, evil lust, and unbridled desire, which is idolatry.
Через це приходить гнів Божий на неслухняних синів,
On account of which things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
між якими й ви колись ходили, як жили між ними.
In which *ye* also once walked when ye lived in these things.
Нині ж і ви відкиньте те все: гнів, лють, злобу, богозневагу, безсоромні слова з ваших уст.
But now, put off, *ye* also, all [these] things, wrath, anger, malice, blasphemy, vile language out of your mouth.
Не кажіть неправди одне одному, скиньте із себе стару людину з її вчинками
Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his deeds,
й зодягніться в нову, яка оновлюється для пізнання образу Того, Хто її створив,
and having put on the new, renewed into full knowledge according to [the] image of him that has created him;
де немає ні грека, ні юдея, ні обрізання, ні необрізання, ні варвара, ні скіфа, ні раба, ні вільного, але все й у всьому — Христос.
wherein there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ [is] everything, and in all.
Отже, зодягніться, як обрані Богом, святі й улюблені, у щире милосердя, доброту, покірність, лагідність, довготерпіння,
Put on therefore, as [the] elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering;
вибачаючи і прощаючи одне одному, коли хто проти кого має якусь скаргу. Як Христос простив вам, так само й ви робіть.
forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any should have a complaint against any; even as the Christ has forgiven you, so also [do] *ye*.
А понад усе — любов; вона — зв’язок досконалості.
And to all these [add] love, which is the bond of perfectness.
Нехай перебуває у ваших серцях мир Христа, до якого ви були покликані в одному тілі, і будьте вдячні.
And let the peace of Christ preside in your hearts, to which also ye have been called in one body, and be thankful.
Слово Христове нехай перебуває у вас щедро, у всякій мудрості. Навчайте і застерігайте самі себе, з вдячністю співаючи Богові у своїх серцях псалми, прославлення, духовні пісні.
Let the word of the Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another, in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.
І все, що тільки робите, — словом або ділом, — усе робіть в Ім’я Господа Ісуса, дякуючи через Нього Богові Отцеві.
And everything, whatever ye may do in word or in deed, [do] all things in [the] name of [the] Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by him.
Дружини, слухайтеся своїх чоловіків, як личить у Господі.

Wives, be subject to [your] husbands, as is fitting in [the] Lord.

Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Діти, слухайтеся батьків у всьому, бо це до вподоби Господу.
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in [the] Lord.
Батьки, не дратуйте ваших дітей, щоб не занепадали духом.
Fathers, do not vex your children, to the end that they be not disheartened.
Раби, слухайтесь у всьому тілесних панів, не служіть їм про людське око, як ті, хто підлещується до людей, але в простоті серця, боячись Бога.
Bondmen, obey in all things your masters according to flesh; not with eye-services, as men-pleasers, but in simplicity of heart, fearing the Lord.
Що тільки робите, робіть від душі, наче для Господа, а не для людей.
Whatsoever ye do, labour at it heartily, as [doing it] to the Lord, and not to men;
Знайте, що від Господа одержите нагороду — спадщину, адже служите Господу Христові!
knowing that of [the] Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance; ye serve the Lord Christ.
